Well I was just asked by my father-in-law if I would be interested in taking over the payment on one of the 2 2010 Yamaha Raider's that he has. The blue one is his and has the upgraded chrome package and the red one is his wifes and it is lowered 1in and has bars that are lower and droped back some (shes a short ladie). I know its not a Buell, but my wife will ride on this with me.....she hates my buell. I thought I would show yall what mabiee sleeping next to the 12r in the garage in the next few weeks. I really like the looks of both bikes and will prob just pull the baffles out of the pipe and leave the rest alone......for now :D. What do yall think.....can I ride this without having my Buell card revoked?

Sorry this is the only pic I have for now.

The Star series are really great bikes. If you've got the room and the money to blow on a second bike, then I'd say GO FOR IT!:D

What displacement?
My dad has a Yamaha Silverado something other that has a 107ci motor. It's RIDICULOUS.

They are both brand new bikes that have been ridden twice so its like im buying it new and the payments will be........well like I bought it new ( roughly $350 a month). Good thing is that I will pay off both my truck and the XB when I get my income taxs back next year.....so it will only hurt for a lil while. The only reason for doing this is to let my wife in experiance of riding...she has never been on a bike so she knows nothing about how it feels and she wants to try it out.

i'd rock one of those. it'd be nice to have a bigger cruiser for long rides. I got to swap with my old man on a ride labor day and rode his harley for a while. definitely a different experience. i feel like i could ride that thing 1500 miles a day without being uncomfortable at all

If you can afford to you almost have to go for it. I have my Harley, that I take out on longer rides, or places I need to be able to carry things. Then the Buells, for the fun days.
Besides, if your wife is game on one of thoses, it is a must, she will love it.
Good Luck on deciding

Well the decision will be my father in laws. The blue one is his and if he wants to keep it.....Im not going to force him to sell it. The reasons he is selling one is he was just layed off and his wife wont ride hers. She was recently riding a HD trike that decided it liked the ditch and bobwire fence more than staying on the road (Her fault....she had never driven one and it was more than she could handle once things went bad). The insurance refuses to total it, but they will pay to fix it......A HD rep says its totaled and wont let anyone touch it....so my father in law is still paying on a $30,000 trike thats in peices. So in the end 3 bike payments is too much with no income and I will take which ever one he dosent want......either way both bikes are beautiful...ones just shinier than the other.

I have always been a Yamaha lover. If I were to get a cruiser type bike it would be the raider. I'd love to have one parked next to my Buell.

Rode my old 750 vulcan last sunday for the first time in awhile. I still like it so you've got to love that monster your considering. Do it while your young if your finances are square.

I wont even get a chance to ride one or even see it in person for another 2 weeks.....damn oilfeild...lol.

He told me in a email today that I could get either one.....I just cant make up my mind. Do I go for the chromed out look on the blue one or do I go for the more sinister look of the mostly black one? I know my whife likes chrome and blue......but I know too much chrome can be a bad thing...in my book anyways.

The red one has already been lowered 1in and new bars that are pulled back 1.5in...the blue one is well .....stock.
