I've got big man syndrome at 6'3 and love little cars. Had a MKV Gti and wrecked it, recently got a Mini Cooper haha

I know its like it has a **** eating grin that says, I know I look like a family car but I'm fast!
Did you look at the cobb tuning website? You NEED the stage 1 tune.

Also I had a bit more fun in the snow today driving through snow drifts. Was rolling snow over the hood at times.

2005 pontiac gto. Manual 6, ls2 with a flow master cat back system. a couple other minor fun additions. I love it, I have a hard time in the morning while drinking my coffee. do I take the buell? or do I take the goat?

A goat! Really cool cars. I liked them a lot when they came out but I have to admit I like the G8 a lot better.

but I have to admit I like the G8 a lot better.

I dont blame you, they designed the G8 from the ground up, for the gto they threw a corvette c6 motor in to a vauxhal body. but the gto is lighter, a bigger motor, and gets better gas mileage. oh and half the price lol

I really wish when all the changes happened chevy would have picked up the G8 under a new name. It was a hell of a car.

I didn't realize the gto was lighter...isn't the gto fairly heavy? I thought the G8 also had a ls2?

In any case, any car with an ls engine is pretty BA :)

yea I wish chevy kept it as well i love it, if it wasn't so expensive tho...

the gxp model has the big motor i know that. the gto is like 3700 lbs so yea its not much lighter lol.

konarider94 Yeah I looked at cobb but I also looked at hypertech because for a hand held tuner it had some impressive gains! I think I will do the upgraded TMIC, turbo inlet pipe, full intake, a tune "one of which I have not decided on", and then call it a day! I had a 2004 audi a4 quattro, the only thing i did to it though was up the boost with the n75 or whatever valve cant remember. It was alot of fun though konarider.

J20tD did you atleast get the SC version. I personally dont like the car but they say you can customize and mod the hell out of a mini?

Oh yeah of course I got mini in the S lol. My old GTI had a lot done to it and I love having a sleeper car. The mini will be a sleeper one day, for one all my extra funds go to he buell

I've got the first cousin of the MazdaSpeed3, a Volvo C30. This particular one is a Polestar edition. Not quite the same as the one Jeremy drove on TopGear, but still pretty fun. The C30, Ford Focus, and Mazda 3 are all built around the same chassis platform.

Actually, both the G8 & GTO were Australian Holdens, not Vauxhalls. It's too bad that a combination of internal GM culture clashes, a poor dollar exchange rate, and the recession conspired to end GM's importation & rebadging of Australian Holdens. The V8, RWD format never really went out of favor down under like it did for several decades in N America. Consequentially Aussie cars using that format generally have much better developed chassis & suspension; similar to Euro handling.

Each time there was someone who "knew" the trail... and would scout the 4dr to the 4dr line and the 2dr to the 2dr line. Both equally capable, but required a different line to get up things.
That clip of the silver 4dr taking the short wheelbase line is pretty impressive!

Noobuel Yeah I just watched a video on the polestar really nice cars, if I'm not mistaken I was surprised they didnt have slightly higher numbers with a 2.5 5cyl turbo 250hp 273tq seemed low compared to the ms3's 2.3 4cyl with 263hp 280tq? Other than that how do you like the hidden console?

Noobuel supper sexy car and fast to! The larger displacement and extra cyl with less power just through me for a loop!

Yes.... don't really remember why they chose to take it that way... it was funny watching him drop in and get snagged on the rear tire with his front bumper almost plowing the rock in front of him.

In case anyone cars about random Jeeps... here's the web album from that day also...

As far as climbing... the breakover was much nicer on the 2drs, but the 4 doors were MUCH less likely to lift the front wheels when you had to get aggressive with the throttle. In either... the right armor/sliders will make a HUGE difference... you won't have to be so "picky" above avoiding dragging things.
It's nice to not worry TOO much about that giant rock your slipping by...

This is my brother's jeep, though it has poison spider sliders and some more armor on it now. This was the first weekend we dragged it over rocks... which will convince you pretty quickly to beef it up. Also the first time to rail those pretty black wheels against the rocks.

Just enough lift to tuck the 33s at full flex.

I mentioned it earlier, but no pics. Here is MY toy.
LT1 V8, 700r4 tranny, LS1 Camaro disc brakes, lots of suspension mods, desperately needs a new complete exhaust and rebuilt rear-end.

Brake Clearance was a LITTLE tight.

This was a school project, but sums it up pretty well...

Kind of....
It was always a 2.73 , one wheel, rear-end. I could BARELY get the pedal to the floor in 1st... and it was a LONG first. if they broke loose, run was trashed... if i managed to ease into it, it was FAST. There wasn't enough traction on the street for a shorter 1st, so a long gear made it easier.
With a 2.73 gear I ran the 1/4mile in a VERY high 13 at 98mph... without going into 3rd... bumped the limiter as I crossed the line.
It now has a 3.08, which feels MUCH better, but I haven't had it together enough to hit the track. I did some bolt-ons, tuned it, lost all the excess weight, and added traction bars... can't wait to get it to the track again. AND get a posi/locker in it.

The 2.73 was always a fun gear on the hwy. Anything below legal speeds and I could hit 2nd gear and be in the powerband. It ripped until over 130mph easy. Had it way faster than that a few times (younger and dumber). The plan is still to have a tall enough gear to top it out at 'The Texas Mile".... a standing start top speed run. Kinda like Bonneville, but 1 mile, and on an airstrip in texas.

Jalopnik thought it was underrated as well so they did a dyno run. They claimed, after liberal transmission loss allowances, that it made 256. :D I don't think I can tell the difference between 250 and 256 ha! I can definitely tell the difference between this Polestar and my previous C30. The console is interesting from a styling perspective, but I don't find a use for it.

Chevy42083 What do you think it will top out at on the texas mile? Also when you do it dont forget to gopro it!

Noobuel Yeah that console is cool as hell but like the guy said that reviewed the car I dont like putting my stuff where I cant see it, or else I would put it in the glove box! O yeah I bet it was worth the extra money for the tune, why wouldnt they tune all their cars like that?
