Texas Mile... NO idea really. Just lots of calculator work.
There really aren't many trucks running it (at least with semi-normal HP).
This is the only truck I've seen run...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvrUG2T7kSQ

With the 3.08 rearend, I'll be doing 151mph as I hit 6000rpm in 3rd gear. 4th, would be 215mph (obviously too high)... though lots of people say you shouldn't push 4th, being OD.
I'd like to hit 160mph, as a nice goal. Maybe gear 3rd for 160, then bump to OD, just cruise. This is assuming I have the space. Running calculator on RPM, I've hit over 160 with the 2.73 rearend... from a 70mph roll on WIDE OPEN highway. With roasting the tires at a launch, I hit over 110mph with the 2.73 rearend in a 1/4 mile.

I can easily make minor gear adjustment with tire size. Going up 1.5in in tire size will get me the extra 10mph to hit 160 in 3rd gear.
I DO have a nitrous kit waiting to go on (though I don't have the "safety" stuff, just a basic kit).
But... I don't think i want to burn it up with an extended spray while pushing the upper MPH... maybe use it to get above 100, then go all motor?

I need to do some testing to see how quickly the truck will top out. Some cars ease into it because a mile is TOO LONG... they wait till 3rd gear, then pin it... this puts them at near their top speed at the end of the mile (where speed is measured). The alternative is to roast the tires leaving... ends up in a slower distance traveled, but higher trap speed.

Yes... i know MPH gets REALLY expensive on the big end. Takes lots of HP to make MPH... so i may be greatly dissapointed. But goals, man, GOALS.

Stock LS1 Fbodies hit just under 150mph

My buddy has an ls1 camaro (01) and we took it to over 160mph on the highway one time. It pulled REALLY hard up until about 120mph, then pulled ok to about 130mph, then after that it took what seemed like forever to reach 150mph and 160mph. He had a superchips tune, and I think at the time ram air, long tubes, and free flowing y pipe and muffler. I'd be surprised if you hit 160 in 1 mile. I think he also had 3.50 gearing at the time. Hard to remember as it's always changing lol. Started out with something like 2.73s. He had the 4 speed auto at the time. We basically topped his car out.

yeah... 160 is the goal. 150 is expected.
I'm not gonna say either is gauranteed. i DO have the ability, with "minor" upgrades... mainly, how much nitrous do i want to spray. How much aero changes should I make (taping up seams, removing mirrors, wipers, etc)

The real goal... to have a 160mph certificate framed next to my college diploma. :D

Tape it up for sure it doesn't cost much and it cant hurt, as for the mirrors its all about hassle if they are easy to take off and tape up go for it! Wipers seem a little more aggravating to get off and sometimes never go back on just right, so fuck em if they fly off they fly off! :D Good luck.

Sits in the garage for the most part. But I do have fun in her when I go for a ride.
Same with the wife. :)

djs2k2O yeah I bet it was worth the extra money for the tune, why wouldnt they tune all their cars like that?
Funny, I paid 8k less for this one than I did the original one Volvo bought back from me. It sat on the dealer's lot for a good long while. I'd see it there the last several times I had the old one in for service. This one doesn't have navigation like the old one did, but with maps on our phones that get updated frequently who needs a nav system in the car anymore?

Magniflow Exhaust, short ram intake, and a tune. Wow this thing just woke up its scary fast should be well over 300 hp! No more boost limiter 20lbs yay![up]

Yay for wagons! So underrated. Total sleepers when they're done right. Nothing better than blowing the doors off of some unsuspecting sap while you're rocking a wagon.
