So I am picking up an 04' XB12R tomorrow in a trade. It looks mint but has 17k miles on it. Has new rear tires, tall bars and top clamp, race kit, gel seat, battery tender, aftermarket wind screen, dropped pegs, pluss all origonal parts So my question is about oil. I have searched by did not come up with my answer. I keep reading that I need motorcycle specific 20/50 full synthetic in both holes. Is that still true for when it is cold out in the winter months or do you guys change to a 10/40 etc?
Thanks for the help

No change for temp... 36,000 and 20/50 full syn is all i use hot or cold, no problems.

Almost forgot... welcome to the family, and post a pic or it didnt happen

Thanks for the info. I will pick up some 20-50 and a filter. I always change fluids on a new to me bike regardless of what I am told by the original owner. I pick it up tomorrow afternoon so I will get picks up then.
