Hey guys names Steve, just picked up a 2005 buell xb12r. It has 14k miles and a jardine exhaust. So it was running a little rough and didn't wanna start so I dropped it off at the shop for a full service cause the guy I bought it from said it sat for awhile. Just got it back this morning they did all the fluids, drained the gas, new plugs, and a k&n filter. Took it for a ride today and it ran awesome, exhaust pops a bit on decel, so I think it might be kinda lean, but have no idea about this Ecm stuff so I'm scared to tune. And tonight when I went to put it in the garage it started a little rough again and stalled out twice. Any ideas on what the issue could be?

Welcome to the Buell labyrinth. I say that for two reasons; one you're on this forum and two you're on a Buell. Both are quirky and both are awesome when all is right.
I suggest that you allow your bike a few minutes to properly warm up before you ride. Also NEVER blip the throttle or rev the engine when it's cold or just sitting stationary. That's a sure way to foul your plugs.
Also check that you battery terminals and grounds are good, clean and tight.
A great tool for you and your Buell is a service manual. Check Buellmobs.com for one.
Good luck with the bike!
BTW the suggestions about fuel and plugs are spot on. Like I said these bikes are quirky and finicky. They like what they like and that all depends on riding style and environment. The best fuel you can buy should be at the top of the list.

Thanks for the replies guys. added some fuel stabilizer to the gas and let it run for a few minutes, seems like letting it warm up for a few minutes is the key, it was very cold in Massachusetts last night when i fired it up btw. idles right around 950-1000rpm when warm. Once I figure out this ecm stuff which seems very interesting ill give the tps reset and idle set a try. Kind of scares me cause its very confusing. Anyone know where i can purchase a cable to connect the ecm to computer and where on the bike i connect it to? its already killing me to have to wait all winter to ride this thing after getting a quick taste yesterday i cannot wait!! Also any advice on tuning for my current set-up of the jardine exhaust and K&N filter? thanks again guys!

Nice bike, looks clean! the guys on this site should be able to help you with any issues with your new bike. enjoy!

I live north of boston in chelmsford, MA so i got it serviced at RJ's RPM motorsports in Nashua, NH. They did an awesome job, The bike falls under their Harley service for $150 plus parts which is complete fluid change, plugs, and air filter. I had them flush the tank and add a K&N filter and it came out to $260 for everything which i was very happy with.
