I don't understand why people take the time to block out their license plates. You can't get any personal information off the plate. Besides that, you parade the thing around town every time you ride it, why block it out for some fellow enthusiasts on the internet? The a-holes in traffic are more likely to try anything malicious than like-minded friends on a forum.

Personaly I prefer to keep this info.
From who? Really, you're parading your uncovered plate around town and country all day long. If you cut someone off or speed by them and piss them off, they now have your plate number. Yet when you're here with friends that won't do anything malicious you cover it up?

It makes absolutely zero sense.

I am certain it took you longer to write either of your comments that it did to block the license plate. Who cares. Cool bike Bala!

The DMV will do no such thing.
Okay. There is a purchase option for a plate lookup here and it will give the registered owner's name and registration details but it won't give out address info. With a name, you can get a little closer to finding an address (not necessarily a storage location for the vehicle).

The big buzz here lately is about geo location tag information embedded on photos taken with cell phone cameras. Often folks don't realize that the info is attached to the photo. They can go ahead and block out license plates in photos, but the geo coordinates of where the photo was taken are still embedded.

Anyhow, beautiful bike, Balastraka. I love the front fairing and light + the lightning tail.

Mine was done by the previous owner. Yours looks a lot better!

I'm working on a P-51 styled paint scheme that will incorporate both the green and silver nicely. Hopefully get it done over the next couple months.

I think the black frame and swingarm are making that colour better on my bike.

That P-51 plan sound good. Post some pics when ready! :)

My idea is similar to this:
biggin-hill-airport-family-open-day-02.jpg

Air box and tail are dark olive drab (green)
Frame is silver (stock) with the star and bar on each side
Swingarm will have the black-white-black stripes that normally run through the star and bar
Front fairing to be black/yellow striped
Front/rear fenders and windshield to be black/yellow checker

Hopefully it turns out as well as it looks in my head.

Eh I'll look tomorrow. I know they are the oversized set. By far most comfortable and smooth setup yet. Thanks for the compliment on the mashup I call It my lightning bolt. Lol
