Thanks a lot man. It’s taken me quite some time but I finished it just in time for the nice weather!

I did rattle it on the first go around but then went with a custom shop afterwards. The rattle can wasn’t bad looking, but it scratches very easy. Even a swipe of the hand to remove dust from the airbox cover would leave scratches. So I ordered some Hot Rod Flatz flat black from TCP Global. It’s a pre-flattened low-gloss with the 30-degree satin primer look. Mixed in some hardener then sprayed. It’s a single stage paint so you can use spray wax on it without making the flat shine or removing some finish (as opposed to rattle can). I went with powder-coating on the rear sets and tail section and some ceramic bake-on coating for the header pipes.

Im new to the forum and to Buells but man i have fallen in love with this bike from the day i brought it home!

I used the Hot Rod Flatz on my bike as well. Very happy with it after a year and I ride all year. I used the flat black metallic. Nice bike

yeah Shawn, im a huge fan of your blacked out bike! i just changed mine from translucid orange to all black, just need to get some pics up. how did you black out your heel guards? anodized or something else?

Thanks RH12s, I had the heal guards and rear sets powder coated. As well as the tail section and triple trees. Just to keep from having to touch the paint up all the time.

I will post a full before and after with lots more pics soon.
