Just got this ’03 XB9S w/ 13k on it a few days ago and I’m still trying to figure out what I have. The original owner was related to a Buell tech so it's a tight,well-sorted bike. My wife likes the Valencia orange for the hi-viz aspect and I like the amber rims. The pipe is a Jardine that I think needs repacking. The brake lines are steel braided. Mirrors, bar ends and blinkers are fake c-f. The seat seems to be a Buell select gel seat. The cheese grater is gone. Did I miss anything else? It's a blast in the suburbs, so I'm guessing it's even better out in the twisties. Can't wait for better weather.

Here's my sweetheart. Traded up from an XB9S just before the first snow flew. Chopped the tail, did a re-route, K&N, bar end mirrors, yada-yada... Fortunately, the weather has been pretty warm in MN this winter, so I've had it out a good number of times. I'll get it all dolled-up this spring and post some more shots at a later date.

Someone please tell me how much you LOVE my matching gold bar ends - I spent WAY too much time grinding those things down to fit inside the Pro Tapers...

Route 0766: Bar end mirrors clamped right on in about 5 minutes. Gold bar ends would not need any modification for stock 7/8 bars, but needed MAJOR grinding/dremel work to get them to fit into my 7/8 aluminum bars (aftermarket). It's very do-able, but just requires some tools and some time. Adds a little flash and ties things together a bit more.

Oh9bolt--Thanks for pointing that out. The seller didn't mention anything about it being an SL, but I don't think he knew, either. So, the yellow shock is the best giveaway. What's funny is that I wouldn't have even looked at this bike if I knew that because I'm 6'2" w/ a 34 inseam. After reading about the first Low or Scg model I just skipped those articles through the years. As it turns out, I fit the bike fine and love the ride. I'll probably go ahead and try to make the swap for extra room and better handling, though. Thank goodness so many xb parts are interchangeable. Thanks again!
