Well guys, it's been a real pleasure. Sold the XB today. She was a great bike, and I'll miss her dearly, but it's time to move on to the next thing. I put a deposit down on a 2010 KTM 990 Adventure R. It's just right for my size (I'm a big boy!) and kicks out quite a bit of power while still having a pretty impressive amount of suspension travel. I'm still going to poke my head in around here from time to time (mostly to be the snarky ******* I always am) because there really isn't a forum for KTM bikes that's active enough to be worth joining (other than the catch-all ADVRider, which is always fun).

I'm sure the new owner will be poking his head in around here before long. Josh is a good guy, and I know he'll find this forum exceedingly helpful.

I'll still be offering tuning sessions, so don't hesitate to contact me for that.

Well sorry to see you go. Thanks for the contributions you have been making on the site.

Post up some pics of the KTM.

Sorry for your lose. Glad you're still doing the tuning classes though. Cause by the time I get to tune the damn thing I'm sure I will have forget some steps.

Got any spare parts laying around you wanna get rid of?

KTM was $15,100 OTD with a Zumo 660 and Touratech mount included. Also getting a 50% discount on any gear I purchase when I pick the bike up tomorrow. Apparently I got a good deal, because none of the other dealers would budge below $16.5k OTD. If you'd like Nitto, we can get together and you can give the bike a once over. You're not too far away from me. The dealership still has a standard 990 Adventure (with ABS) in stock, and they obviously want to get rid of their 2010 KTM models on the quick.

Sorry flaya, got rid of everything to the buyer. He's a good kid and I wanted to make sure he walked away with a good value.

Gonna miss ya, still sooner or later a new bike is always fun. Stay in touch. Picts of the KTM .[cool]

I'll post pics as soon as I pick it up tomorrow. And I won't be leaving the forum any time soon. I still have a couple contributions up my sleeve.

As promised!

This bike is incredible. I miss the Buell like crazy, but the 990 Adventure R definitely softens the blow.

I'm going hunting for one tomorrow, only difference is mine will have company in the garage.

A 990 Adventure R, or just the standard Adventure with ABS brakes? Either way, if you grab one, let's ride! You're up in Victorville, right?

And mine has company, just not two-wheeled company. The new bike has to share space with my 1968 Datsun 510 4-door.

R is hard to find. I know that when I contacted the other dealers about finding one, and asked them to beat $15.1k OTD, they just laughed. Let me know if you find one! I'd love to take a ride up in your neck of the woods. Supposedly there's an all off-road way to get from Victorville to Vegas, and I'm planning on going at it after the engine is properly broken in.

I purchased mine from Motoworld of El Cajon, but it was the only R they had on the floor. In talking with the guys at Scuderia West in the bay area, they get them from time to time, but sell almost immediately. I also know their OTD price is $16.5k, and they will not budge an inch.
