Hooray for free mods that work! [up]

Did this a week after I put on my front LED signals and got tired of the rapid blinking. Took me longer to find my allen set than it did to complete the process.

has anyone ever run two sets of front led blinkers? I want to put led mirrors and some slim or flush flashers in the front so I'd have 2 for each side. Does anyone see a problem with this.

No problems at all. Should make ya plenty visible!

I have an 09 xb12r, I just pulled the electronic flasher off but I'm just not seeing how you guys opened the relay up? The box is sealed all the way around, am I missing something ?

I have an 06 xb9sx and mine looked like this one. I pointed to the lead I cut and it worked great with my ebay LED blinkers all the way around.

In the pic above, he's pointing to the lead that needs removed/disconnected. It is referenced by the notch at the end of the 8 pin chip. Count from the notch, counter clockwise, to number 7. Cut, snap, unsolder, whatever, just remove the contact from pin 7 to the board and your done. Removes the load part of the circuit and simply goes into a timed pulse mode. Run any combination of lighting/LED and you should be fine. The load sense circuit is there to let you know a light is out, its looking for two functioning bulbs, when it finds something else it increases the pulse timing. By removing the sensor part of the circuit you've made it a straight pulsing relay. Just remember to check your signals once in awhile to make sure your lights are still good. Basically your removing the idiot owner part of the turn signal circuit. Kind of like tire pressure sensors, its there for idiots who can't/won't take care of their vehicle and need prompting that theres a problem.

Just did this mod to add led mirrors. It slowed them down but now only half of the led strip inside the mirror is working. Any ideas why?

Tried this mod on my euro specs 08' XB12Scg. Did'nt work......... Before they were constantly on, no flashing, now they don't light up at all. Was worth a try of course but now i've ordered a new relay and a so called equalizer. :)

Did this on my '08 Scg. there was some black goo sealant that I had to carve away, and the inside of the flasher looked different, different chip, but I removed the same pin as in the pic and it works fine. I figured I had nothing to lose since I would have to buy a new flasher anyway.

I have an 05 XB9SX, same thoughts as cb750. I swapped all 4 signals for leds, works great! Thanks for the free mod help!

Fixed my 2009 XB9SX using this trick, works even using LED in the rear and regular indicators in the front.
Have not had the time to change the front ones yet.

Using Kellermann Micro Rhombus Extreme indicators.
