Welcome aboard, Buellster4.

I'm in Wylie and work in McKinney. Hopefully, I should be getting new tires on my bike and I'll be back to riding soon.

Welcome! I am way over in Ft. Worth... I know this is the "North Dallas" thread, but I figure it is close enough.

Alright, the weather is cooling off and, more importantly, I finally have a new set of tires. :D

It's been a long time since we had a group meet/ride and I wanted to start getting some dates that might work for everyone.

Next weekend is the first Saturday of October which means Cars & Coffee. We can also shoot for another weekend if need be. I know I need to double check on my schedule.

Just wanted to put this out there and get the ball rolling.

I'm planning on going to Cars & Coffee this Saturday. I haven't been in a really long time. If the weather keeps up, and it looks like it will be, I'll be there. Might stick around for an hour or so then ride to lunch. Thinking about make a few runs on Ida Rd. (For those not familiar, Ida Rd. runs southeast out of Sherman.)

If anyone is interested or has an idea, feel free to chime in.

Will check to see if we or I can make it? It has been a while since a group ride. I did a ride out to Lake Tawakoni to Wind Point and it was closed down? Heard good things about the place but unfortunately not sure if it is going to re-open? A lot of development going on around that area, hopefully it will not be developed.

SilveradoTX,

I probably won't make this meet, but before you make plans to ride Ida Rd, let me see if I can make it out and check on the construction, as they have been working on repaving it.

Thanks for the heads up, augustus_01. Last time I was on Ida Rd. there were several freshly paved sections. Some of the sections still had oil, so we dialed back the riding. It's also been about 5 months since I was out that way.

T-bone, no pressure. I agree, though, it's been a while since we've had a group ride.

Even if this weekend doesn't work for anyone, my main goal was to just get the ball rolling and get us all thinking about dates that will work.

Silverado I am in for this weekend and will be 2 up. Did you want to meet at 78 and ride out there? Last time we met at the Exxon on 78 & 544. I would say meet at our new place, but I am the other way in Lavon.

Anybody ridden the 3 sisters?
My brother is coming down from Portland Oregon for a 3 Day weekend. Was thinking of going to Luckenbach/Fredricksburg on a Friday. Ride the Sisters on Saturday day. Headback Sunday. Anyone think this is too ambitious?

I'm late on the reply here.

I've heard that the route is a fun, scenic ride, but that it should be ridden with caution. I have no personal experience on it, just what I've read from other sites.

Hey Tbone, I've hit the 3 twisted sisters a few times; once with my 1125R, and the other with my Ulysses. The misses joined me on the Uly for a doubled up ride.
I had heard alot of stories warning that inexperienced riders should not try the sistes. But anyone who can control their bike and not ride over their head should be fine. That said, both times we witnessed wrecks involving bigger heavier Harley Davidson's. And both were just a few miles east of Vanderpool on 337 on same 2nd of two left hander that appears to catch some off guard. But I'm sure you guys will be fine.
One of my favorite parts isn't even on the sisters. It's the ride from Kerrville to Madina. Be sure to stop at the Apple Store in Madina for some apple ice cream.
Enjoy!

Me and a couple guys get together and ride sometimes, but I'm always the only Buell only seen 3 or 4 other Buells in the area. If anyone from the DFW (I'm in Arlington) area wants to ride I'm always down to go ride. WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING [mad]
