i was looking into buying a set of clip ons for my xb12r when i saw the prices i started checking other sportbikes that came stock with clip ons and they are almoast free. but what will fit? i know i have a 54 mm fork tube, the closest 2 i found were a old zx7r ninja and a ducati 996 bolth have a 52 mm,but i do not know what size bar or if my bars will fit. has anyone done this before? i just dont like the look of the stock set up..looks cheap,i want race looks.

all, of the bar sizes will be the same 7/8" O.D. with a length right around five inches. what you will find though is that most clip-ons have a locator that fits into the top triple clamp to set the sweep of the bars, and this will most likely not work with yours.

You could remove this locator bt it will then take some time to set your sweep where you want it as well as being symetrical.

Also, clip-ons are usually swept in two directions (back and down) these angles of sweep vary from bike to bike so you may need to try a couple pair before you find something you like, as well as something that will not hit your frame.

just get a lightnin triple clamp drill out the stock 7/8 mounts to 1 1/8 and run dirtbike bars! much better than clip ons

thanks for the info. i dont want the street fighter look,im looking for the track bike look. i like the height og the stock bars, but the 1 peice look just looks cheap.i think i may graind into the aluminum head and reshape it to look like the bar holders are seperate..maby add a few bolts for looks. any ideras or picts would be helpful.
