Problem with overheat/shut-off answer is that skip cycle happens first. When engine goes into skip cycle, the CEL is flashing. No codes are left.

No flashing CEL? Consider other problems.

Distraction/side issue: lot of blah blah about octane. Air cooled in this heat, use the highest octane you can get at a pump. 94 is best. Fuel is not the problem here.

Back to real issue. Heat may not be the problem.

Now that you mention my fan running in not sure if it was on or not when it shut off. After it shut down I don't believe it was running..which it very well should have been. I do know that my CEL was not flashing and did not come on when it stalled out. It really just seems like it was hot and my temp sensor or my iat shut it down and I have no real problem. Just have this stuck in my head now.

When the bike over heats and the ecm shuts it down it does not keep the fan running. I know that seems odd(I think so too) but when my buddy's bike shut down the fan shut down as well. The fan was running then the bike died and the fan shut off too. Then after cooling down it worked like normal again(30-60 min later).

Seems about right. My problem was that the bike wasn't cooling down sitting in the sun. About an hour later I tried to start it again and it clicked like it had a dead battery.

hm it is possible there is another issue....just was throwing it out there about the getting too hot thing.

I rode on the parkway on my Blast earlier this year. Ran about 22-25 miles of road at 90mph. When I stop at the end of the off my bike bogged down and cut out. I waited on the island trying over and over to start her up. After about ten minutes she fired right up. No problems since. My guess was it overheated but I wasn't sure. I've put many miles on the bike since with no problems whatsoever. Its expected with an air cooled v-twin running like the Buells run.

Turns out my VR connector is burned up. I have a new regulator on the way with the 77 connectors. Does anyone know where I can get the VR plug housing to replace the burnt one?

Oh9bolt...trust me I know. Everyday I tell myself that I need to finish blacking everything out. I'm waiting till the roads see salt for the first time to finish it up.
Snrusnak..thanks. You know anywhere that can get me the 77a plug? I can't find it anywhere. Got the connectors but don't want to use the burnt housing.

I know you can get a nice Deutsch kit from Summit Racing....check out its contents on line and see if it matches up to any in the kit? Just a thought?!

Unfortunately I cant post a picture. My computer crashed and I haven't figured out how to post from my iPhone. It is the plug that comes from the bike to the voltage regulator. 2 pin plug not the 3 pinned stator plug. Also if anyone know how to post pictures from an iPhone please let me know.
