Hey guys, I recently pulled my stock muffler off to gut and my muffler bearings look a little rough. I thought I'd polish them up to increase performance and extend the life of the muffler.

Whatcha think?

I'm going to leave out the races when I reinstall them because once they have been polished, the races are useless and made to be removed after servicing anyways.

thanks for the post, ive noticed mine was starting to make some noise.i guess i will check it this weekend +1

Taking recent events into account, I think a little comic relief is needed to distract us from the seriousness and even jobe will get a kick out of this (he's been taking it resonably well).

BTW, I have a radiator from a 1971 VW bug for sale if anyone is interested.

Dude! My cousin polished his muffler bearings and installed diesel spark plugs in his Sportster, and he can outrun his neighbor’s 'busa. True story :p

the best way to clean those before polishing is to apply shop air get it spinning as fast as possible to remove any debris

Might be interested in that radiator . Is it out of a big block bug or one that had the twin kanooter chargers ? Those kanooter charged ones were fast as hell ! :p

Seems like a great performance mod, but the best bang for the buck still has to be the K&N sticker mod.

Never seen such a blunt and straight forward request for rep points. I will oblige simply because you are so daring.

Walter....;)

On a serious note, I'm having a problem. I find more and more often lately, I need to re-set one of the trigger bolts for my voltage retention box.
Anyone else find that?

Replace your voltage retension box with a Flux Capacitor and you'll be set.

Buck..not sure about the trigger bolts but I have a spare box of various model short circuits if you think it will help. Going cheap.... Wayne

Does anyone have any experience with replacing their piston return springs with beefier ones? I've been thinking about that mod for a while.

I heard surgical tubing yielded the best results.
