Forgive my ignorance, but what does the exhaust bearing do? Dose it help the air flow more smoothly? Thanks in advance.

Walter... ;)

Man, I guess mine is old school. It's still got Babbitt bearings in it. Kinda weird that I found it on my 1125 though.

You can up the oil pressure, still polish them and add a tear-drop port at the oil holes.

Never seen such a blunt and straight forward request for rep points. I will oblige simply because you are so daring.

lol, I was kidin, and for the record, I had 15 before this silliness started.

Pending sale on the 71 VW bug radiator. It is from the "W 12 cylinder version".

Hey it worked lol. Now are you going to explain this bearing or do I have to take back a point?

Love Walter...;)[confused]

when i first read the title i thought it might be about the muffler bracket (you know, because its load bearing)

but that was hilarious!!

So do you repack these bearings? If so is it recommended to "hand pack" them?
And on a side note can someone tell me where to find the 710 cap?

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure you have to have the bearings pressed back in. mine are shot, I'm gonna have to look into it.

No there is no need to repack the bearing. They are designed to be self oiling. The oil from the blinker fluid resevior will make it's way to the muffler bearings with each use. Make sure to ride aroun for several miles with your blinker on to ensure te bearing have enough oil after reinstalling them. Also the oil will help hold the polish on the bearing better and make it last longer.

So thats why mine was rattling and Squeaking. I got tired of sounding like a H/D so I filled mine with expanding foam and it got rid of the issue.....even made my gas mileage better.......

I hope you all had your summer air replaced with the winter air in your tires.
I still chuckle at the exhaust fluid for the new diesels ... Yet its a real product

BTW, I have a radiator from a 1971 VW bug for sale if anyone is interested.
how much ? is the high polished or black version?
i have been trying to get one for months now and VW says they no longer make them for resale do rusty warranty seals check light , anyways mine rusted out 6 months ago on my
