purchase problem...

So I purchased a part from a member on this site on novemeber 23rd 2012... I still have not received what I bought. I gave the gentleman 150 dollars as a gift in paypal so that I got charged the fine. Which I know is risky and not smart but in the almost 3 years ive been on this forum I have yet to have a problem when it comes to buying something off someone on here. I do have his number and about a month ago he finally responded and said sorry he will ship it out asap. but here i am, 3 months after I gave the money and I still do not have it. Since that convo a month ago he has not responded to any of weekly txts.... Im posting this for no apparent reason because at the end of the day its my fault for not covering my ass and making it a payment of goods. Its just like what the hell....


do i need advice? yea maybe if you got anything good.
just needed to vent and to let everyone on here know that this is a possibility and I just hate seeing it happen.

I think you went about it the right way. Not bashing, just stating facts and looking for advice.

Maybe post his name and someone on the forum might know him? We've seen this a few times and they always seem to resurface. Never know, they may have some personal issues that have him indisposed?

I had that scare once on Paypal also, sent the money as a gift ($400), and it too a loooong time to get my stuff. Eventually I got the stuff but I learned my lesson. I am never again gifting money on Paypal for goods, even if I pay extra myself to cover the fee.

I hope it ends up OK with you. I think after three months you can post his name on here like netty said.

Google search turns up about nothing.....good luck buddy. Paypal will have his address if they are willing to cough it up. If you still have any emails or messages you can try and threaten civil court? I wish you luck.

yea unfortunately there are some good members on this site that ask for payment as a gift, and now I will be very hesitant about that.

bummer...maybe there should be a member time period or reputation level set in order to post a sale or something, no gifting on paypal, make 'em regular purchases, swallow the fee, and get piece of mind that you can get your money back if you file a claim and back it up

I had a problem too recently(in December) with a purchase from a member here .... recieved my part ok, but I had to pay 75$ more, in brokage fees, to get my part because the seller DECIDED to ship with a different shipper than the one I paid for ..... Sent several PM and e-mails asking for a refund of the brokage fees .... he says he cannot refund me those fees ...

Bummer man!! I know I have sold somethings on here and bought things on here. This may be a little overboard...but i always get a name number and personal email address. And I always correspond by phone. I have had too many bad experience with internet thieves and identity hackers. Luckily I have had all good dealings thus far with people on this forum. There was another post by him back in July 2012 about a new translucent air box cover...doesn't say if it was sold or not. Red translucent air box for sale Paypal should have sent you a receipt with his info on it...I suppose you could do a small claims thing, or just eat the cost...

Yea I think I can get his info off PayPal. He lives in Ohio I think. Got his cell and work number he just doesn't answer or respond. It is really ******. I'm still going to try reaching him, I'm hoping he had some serious personal problem and that's why. I doubt it though.
