Putting a swapping X12SCG SPRING ONLY onto XB9r

I can flat foot and even get my wieght all the way off the bike for super easy burn outs. The only other bike IV had that even comes close to being this comfy on and this confident was an 02' tl1000r. Only problem with the tl is its so heavy feels kinda like having an extra person in the acceleration arena. I like liter bikes and have had several kawi's, Honda's, couple suzukis and an r1. My non buells right now r a cb1000r and a tricked out old speed triple with a bobbed, chopper like tail that's a dam good way to get little black spots all over the back of ur little brothers new white icon jacket:D

Haha those are some interesting ideas [smirk] . Sounds like youve got yourself quite the garage there! I was watching this well known lowering video :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBVG9FQB6gE
and looked closely at the 13 second mark. It looks like the overall body of the shock is smaller which may or may not effect the height of the bike. I may look into some scg forks. I can only slip mine about a half of an inch due to the taper they put onto the forks. Decisions decisions.

What year is ur bolt? U should b able to pull the safety rings at the top of each fork and go as low as u feel safe. Jack up the bike, back the forks out of the tree and it should expose rings that will get u pretty low when removed. My bike was bangin up the factory race can so that was enough for me but now with the magnaflow i got some inches and I haven't ruled out cutting an inch off my fork legs.

yea i removed those C rings and lowered it but the forks taper. The part that the triple tree clamps too is thicker than 90% of the rest of the fork. So I was only able to lower it about a half an inch before I reached the thinner diameter of the fork. Kind of a pointless aspect to the design if you ask me. .

Yeah my tapper is 1/4" inside my trees but IV seen folks with em further but that was what I thought was safe. I wasn't able to find that video the link didn't work but I am on the lookout for a complete standard shock for my junk bike when I have it n my hand ill hold it right next to the scg shock but from a foot and a half away they look the same. Its definitely got me curious. From what I under stand cutting down the fork legs is pretty doable on these bikes and might b super cheap when compared to new scg forks. While u have em apart u can valve em and spring em for ur wieght cuz if ur anything like me ur 15lbs to light to activate the front suspension (145lbs).

Well I was actually able to find a member on the forum who had some scg forks. . Im going to try those. They will be safer PLUS potentially a good amount lower :D

My wife is 5'4 and can get the balls of her feet down on my CG'd Firebolt, I think you will be good just get some thick soled boots. ;)
