I have a 2009 Buell 1125R that I love. I got hit by a Bongo truck on my way to work the other day, and the brunt of the force was on my left side. The hit caused the swingarm to flex to the left somehow and the passenger foot guard punctured about a 1 inch hole in my swingarm. I am in Korea and they tell me that there is no one on the penninsula that works on Buell's. Is it safe to ride my bike until I can get the swingarm fixed?? Where can I order a new swingarm, Central Texas Harley in Austin, TX told me that I could order one for $464, but it would be 30 days from the day I ordered it until it even got to them, and on top of that they don't ship to APO addresses. I could use some help. Thanks.

Sad news on the smash............any chance of getting a mate to bring you one...any excuse for a holiday???

There are 3 on ebay right now and the most expensive one is $109 buy it now price. Thats the way I'd go. If you need some help let me know.

erik buell racing has one for 250 if all else fails. let me know if you need anything else im sure i can help out in someway. i also have a couple extra shop manuals if you might want to do it yourself. i did a swingarm on an x1 it was pretty easy

If you have trouble with shipping contact me and I will ship it from my house to you. Where you stationed? I was in Pohang.

You know of anyone doing a PCS on thier way there? try to sweet talk them out of some of thier weight...

Buellster has a bunch of parted out bikes on their website. Might have some luck there.

Thanks for the tips. I think I am going to by one off Erik Buell Racing. I emailed one of the Tech's there and they said they should be able to ship to APO, but I haven't figured out how yet.

Lambert,
Just ask EBR to ship it USPS priority mail. You can ship up to 70 lbs USPS priority... After that there might be problems.

The other way i get packages here in Italy is DHL. There is usually one in or near the airport. Good luck!

I never understood why the hassle with an APO address, I had tons of mail sent to me. An APO or FPO address is just either on the west or east coast and what branch then the military picks it up from there, to the end address.

Atleast that is how it work with me everytime. The only thing I ever worried about was how slow the military was going to be about delivering my shipments.

Actually, APO stands for Army Post Office, and FPO stands for Fleet post office. So it depends on which service owns the base that the main office is on....

The hassel is the fact that the military mail can be unrelyable and packages get lost. Lots of companies have lost money to refunds that they shipped and never saw again. And the military members just dont handle the packages with the same respect, so the get damaged more often. Reason #1234 why i am getting out of the Navy...
