I have been doing some checking, and am still not sure. Can I flash a race map to the ECM of my 07 xb12r with using ECMspy, or do I need to uodate my ecm manually using the method here DIY buell mapping
If I can just flash a race map using ECM spy would someone be willing to help a brother out, and email me the map I need? :)
My Email addy!

Thanks!

email sent :) This is just the stock race map, unmodified. It CAN be better, but I just loaded this baby and did a tps reset like 2 days ago... I have a K & N filter and a jardine exhaust. Runs SO much better, it's like day and night. Eliminated lots of the popping on decel, still there somewhat, but WAY more tolerable.

Going to hook it up tomorrow, and pray I don't blow something up!
Thanks again

joshisme; I to have a jardine and a k&n filter and a breather by pass,I have been trying to adjust using ECMspy and it is very difficult to make some small adjustments then ride and see the difference and usually i can't tell much of a difference i come back and make a little more and so on and so on i have no other map to go by so i do it by feel basically. i sent you a message to see if you may share your map

Here is a copy of my maps if it helps.

Now if only I could get ECMspy to actually detect my cable! [mad]
Very frustrating. [mad]
I have the driver installed, and can see what com port it is and everything in the device manager, but ECMspy, and ECMread both still claim there they can't communicate with that comport. [confused]

Have you restarted your computer? Also it will help if you let us know what OS your using. When I installed the drivers on my XP laptop I had to restart before it would read anything.

Running 64 bit win 7.
I think I may have gotten something worked out on the laptop, but it is late, and I don't feel like hoofin it out to the garage to test it tonight. I will test tomorrow after work.

When I was trying to install the drivers even by using the search feature from the device manager it wouldn't find them. So I manually assigned ftdibus.inf for the USB serial converter, and then manually assigned ftdiport.inf for the com port.

Fixed my problem and flashed the new map to my bike tonight. After countless different ways of installing the drivers, and trying to trick the laptop into thinking different stuff I finally just started editing the .inf file for the drivers. Finds out I need to install the prolific drivers for my cable.
Which can be found here windows driver
Hopefully this helps out some people that have been wrestling with this same problem. I damn near pulled my hair out trying to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong.
