well Macbuell, I'm from Buffalo and we get a fuckload of snow and inclement weather, and I'm a member of a local Subaru forum up here. 90% of the WRXs are on the road year-round, they're too much fun, and too reliable in the snow to put up for the winter. Mine definitely gets used all winter. I'm still passing and out maneuvering trucks and jeeps in 4WD cause they're crawling. True, symmetrical AWD meaning a gearbox with front diff and tranny all in one, no bungly CV joints running all around underneath with stupid electronic "traction control" that takes power away. I know plenty of people get vehicles and don't use them to their full potiential but we do use our Subies up here. I dunno why you think we're funny, you'd be a Suby fanboy if you drove one for a day, I GUARANTEE it. Yea this truck is fun, no it doesn't need a ****** 6L or even a 5L engine, and no, it wouldn't outperform my car in any arena aside from true baja, which means up to and including a true rally-cross course. My car was born and bred on the combination of twisty tarmac and twisty, rolling snow, dirt and gravel. This truck was born and bred from the baja course, meaning it's strongsuit is navigating extreme dirt terrain at breakneck speed. Apples and oranges, yes. BUT, I've used my car on many a twisty dirt, snow, and tarmac road to much satisfaction. Where on a regular basis will anyone put this truck to use? Most people offroad slowly in an equipped vehicle that's SMALL like a Wrangler.
