I wonder if there is even a market to try and start producing these things. I'm near you and interested, but its a gamble and I wouldn't gamble a lot.

I'd say, it's actual monotery value is pretty limited. Fact is, not a signifigant number of X1 nor S3Ts(S3 and S3T use the same tank) were built for there to be a large calling for remanufactored fuel tanks. On top of that, a large majority of tube frame Buells have been mutilated, destroyed, and chopped up into piece of **** choppers.

From a strictly Buell lover/collector point of view, it is a very unique piece and would be loved/cherished. Value as such is simply what someone is willing to spend on it. As far legality of it, the piece would indeed be legally owned. As long as one was producing tanks as replacement tanks/reproduction tanks, and not "original Buell" tanks, I believe you'd be fine. Lots of companies make replacement parts for vehicles of all types that are in no associated with the OEM.

I don't think there are any legal ramifications at all. It's a bike that's no longer in production, for a company who is no longer in business, and It was acquired legally. Mold away!

And here comes the insides, it's all mint condition.

It's 200lbs it says, and it has 1 inside of it which I believe means it's the original number one mold.

Looked at some photos... S3 for sure. Not sure on what years are injected but that mold is for carb models.

I still may be interested.

I stand corrected.. that is for injected s3 s3t. Got curious and did some more digging.

Pm sent.
