I just picked up a 04 Firebolt last Friday and the owner said he was running Valvoline Max Life[confused]

I want to switch to Mobile 1 synthetic will this be a problem?

The bike has 20k on it now. So, I am safe to make the change I take it.

Is there a reason this guy ran Max Life is this a Buell thing or just a guy being random?

im fairly new to buells but not bikes.im almost positive max life does not offer bike oil.i use mobile1 v twin others use amsoil either one will be fine.others use royal purple wich i wouldnt use in a lawn mower.max life is good in autos with oil leaks though.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never break an engine in on synthetic! If you use synthetic the metals don't seat properly and you may have issues later!

I just bought Mobil 1 20w50 for V-twin. I only have 1800 miles on it. It is an 07 xb9sx. Is this enough miles to run synthetic oil? Is this oil ok? I was told that Mobil 1 had a 20w50 V-twin for air cooled engines. Is this the same thing or did I get the wrong oil?

yes its the same and yes its enough miles.i did mine at 1200 miles and use it in trans also.

Thank you so much. To anyone looking I received an Oriley sales paper in the mail. 5 quarts of Mobil1 oil and a filter for $29.00. Oriley does not carry the oil for V-twin but I took that sales paper to Auto Zone and the honored it. Regular price was $9.97 a quart. Great deal if anyone is interested!
