Replace tires?

So I recently got my xb9 and am loving it. The tires have plenty of tread but due to the bike not being ridden very often and just sitting while with the previous owner there are some very small cracks in the front tire grooves. Like I said there is a ton of tread probably close to 85-90% but those cracks scare me. Should i just replace the tires? I was hoping to at least get to winter with these and change them out if needed then.

fairly common as tires age. won't hurt a thing. keep check on tire pressures and ride it. maybe a nice winter project to update tires but from your description they'll be fine.

i would change them if it was my bike.i dont take any chances when it comes to tires since they are the only thing between me and the road.

Just rub lotion on them daily! They'll come back to life!

If it were me, I'd probably swap them out.

Better to spend 300 now and have a bike or chance it and possibly crashing from a blow out. Change em. Are those Michelin Pilot Power?

what year is your bike and have you checked DOT number on the Tire?? better you change tire..![up]

Get some new tires man. I wouldn't drive a car if it had cracks like that, nevermind a bike. Don't risk your life trying to stretch it out for a few hundred miles. Order new ones now, wait to ride till you get them installed, n give yourself some peace of mind. Road rash hurts like hell n I have some permanent scars to show it, but a total blow out could put you out entirely.

As said above, you don't want to risk a blow out. I've know of what seemed like perfectly good tires - both on bikes and cars - blow out. It happened to my car once. When tires are starting to break down like that, you're flirting with disaster. If it were my bike and I couldn't spring for new ones right away, I wouldn't ride till I got em changed. My $0.02.

how much would it cost to get new tires? Buell I just bought got a nail in the rear tire, it still rides great, no leaks but I'm gonna have it checked out
just wondering how much of a hit I'd take
