Just curious if anyone has done this. My stator went out and I think I'm going to attempt to do it myself using the DIY posted from a google search. If you have done it yourself did you source everything online or were you able to find the wire and epoxy locally? If you found it locally what kind of place did you find it at?

According to Cough (Badweb) the wire is so expensive it is cheaper to send it out but from what i have read you can use loctite quick epoxy which you can buy at your local walmart or auto zone

Yea thats where I saw the write-up. From what I've seen they are about the same price but I would have enough wire left over to wind it again in case it fails later. My big thing is I just dumped a bunch of money fixing my XB and I am probably only going to be able to afford a rewind and not the upgraded rotor. My thinking is if I rewind myself and it last me another 5000 miles or more which is what I got out of the current stator, I can wait till it goes out again and by then can get the rotor and just do another rewind with what I have left over. I've been reading the wire is only sold in a 1000 ft spool.
