So this past weekend rob's buddy got the bike from rob's father after it was returned from the police department with the option to rebuild or part out. He decided that Rob would rebuild his bike if he was in his position..now I was contacted to post on here if anyone would be willing to donate parts or see if anyone has parts for sale i guess...

He is looking for " fairing stay, subframe, front and rear wheel, both brake levers, clutch lever, and a seat."

i guess just let me know.

Bad ju-jus anyone? Idk. It's cool they want to rebuild his bike n all but I wouldn't ride the thing.

Got a point man, I guess someone who doesn't know the story might not mind owning it.

I'd ride it. This is going to sound like I'm a dick but it's true. It's not the bikes fault the rider didn't or could control it. It's not the bikes fault he made a stupid mistake. Rebuild it Ride the hell out of it.

I hear ya but to me it's like staying in a room where you know someone died... Just me, but I'd just as soon pick another.

Got a set of stock silver levers off my 04 12R, 30$, I live in Milwaukee so I could drop em off?

Hell yeah id ride it, there have been others on here who rebuilt after a wreck and if he had a helmet on hed prolly be the one rebuilding and hopping back on!
I only hope my freinds would fix up my bike if i croaked. Sounds like hes got a couple good freinds Id love to see picks of it back in operation.

I guess I don't know the story or anything, but I think it's cool to rebuild a bike for someone in memory or whatever.

So this is an xb9r? I have a fairing stay that I took off my bike, it is damaged though. The right turn signal part is broken off (and I don't have the missing piece). I'd give it to you, you pay shipping. I've seen someone on here was able to weld his back together, so maybe you could get another one for free and weld a good one up.

Ok, well my fairing bracket is up for offer for free, like I said though it has a little piece missing off the right turn signal bracket part. I actually even have a welder and could attempt to weld it up, but I'd need another broken one, or some magnesium (where the hell would I get that? lol)

Mixed emotions on the whole thing.

I initially thought that was a little creepy, but after some thought If it were my friends bike, I'd rebuild and ride it. If he were here, he'd rebuild. I would not rebuild to sell. In my opinion, I don't think that's the right thing to do given the circumstances.

Rebuild and ride in his memory! Especially if that bike was a big part of my buddies life and was a common passion amongst my friends.

I'd offer up parts, but I don't have any laying around. Good luck!

Okay all, I have NO pics of the bike. Like I said this is not me trying to rebuild it. His friend contacted me to see what I could scrap up for him.

I believe he wants to make it rideable again.

snrusnak- I let him know what you have to offer and I will let you know what he says.

Here's a pic of the damage:

If you have another that has a good right turn signal portion, you can cut them at the same point and weld one good one together. There is a thread on here where someone did it successfully.
