Rusted part help

Hi all,

Just got mine xb12r bike and after taking down the plastic covers I found this issue. Does anybody know why is this happening and how should i take care of this.

Take it off - take a wire brush to it - spray bomb - reinstall - done

Will it need any adjustments after removal?

Is it only holding by those 2 ellen bolts?

How do you loosen up the belt tension?

Get a hold of a service manual, available online if you hunt around enough, best investment you can make.

I got a digital copy of a service manual on ebay. The seller is from Canada. He'll send you a disc. It's really nice because you can save it on multiple devices. I've used it several times.

FYI the service manual is a free download at the top of this site.

Read the manual, need to remove the rear axle to loosen the belt tension.

it's common for the sprocket to rust. it is just bare steel when new.
