Has anyone swapped out a shorter S tail on an Ss lightning, if so any pics? How much of a PITA is it to swap a tail? Just curious I think with a slightly shorter tail and the lift spacers it would look even more nasty if that is possible...

This is not my bike but yes it's been done before, as how hard it is well I guess it's not worst then switching from a R to a S tail.

If you do switch over to an S tail and are interested in selling your Ss side rails could you let me know?

The top mounts on the Ss frame are wider then the S frame. I have done a Ss to a firebolt tail and had to widen the top mounts. Otherwise it should be easy. You will just have to be creative about how you mount the shock reservoir because it is in a different location also.

I do, but I have someone interested in them. If that falls through I will let you know.

Right now the wife and I are still 2 up on the Ss, I have some mods planned for the near future and the bike will become a solo. So I was thinking the shorter tail gives me more seat options and has a clean chopped look. almost makes it look like an extended swingarm. As soon as I do something worth posting a pic I will.
