Well I went down this morning at 6:30 2 miles out of town. It was so foggy that I couldn't see very far so I was only going around 35mph. I went into a turn and lowsided it and slid about 100 feet. Just scuffed up my leathers and wore a hole in my new SP2 gloves. The only damage to me is a little loss of skin on my hand. Here are some pics.

I'll need a new primary, shifter assembly, left handle bar, clutch lever.

Oh and axle sliders FTW!

Yikes man, good to hear you're doing alright.

Hopefully you wont be too rideless for too long.

rubber side down!

It was really wet, and my tire just wasn't broken in enough. I just got it put on a few days ago and I was seriously being cautious about it. I guess I wasn't cautious enough. It wasn't raining, but the fog causes the trees to drip water on the road. Man this sucks.

Good to see your still breathing brother!

Your bike looks good and so does your skin, A+ for wearing proper gear. Still sucks laying your baby down, at least it wasn't worse.

Were you able to ride it home?

Yeah dave, sorry to hear it buddy. But now you can understand why I was looking for primary parts to my side swipe incident.

Glad you're okay.

Dang Dave, hate to hear that bro. Glad to see it wasn't worse though. Damage doesn't look to be too bad. Hope your back on 2 wheels soon. [up]

I was leaking oil out of the shifter bolt hole, plus I couldn't shift. I also had a bunch of gear with me that I didn't want to put back on so I called a tow truck. My insurance will reimburse me.

That totally sucks dave, I'm so sorry. Happy to hear that you were wearing gear though; could always be worse. You may want to check with Jeremy to see if he has any parts laying around...I know in the past he had a few items that he wasn't able to sell.

What does 'lowside' mean? I hear the term a lot, but not exactly sure I understand it.

With all due embarrassment,
Midnight

Sorry to hear it Dave, glad you're able to ride again.

What does 'lowside' mean?

When you go down on the side in which you were leaning. High side is when you go up and over the opposite way you were leaning.
