What does 'lowside' mean? I hear the term a lot, but not exactly sure I understand it.

Lowside= Wheels slide out from underneath bike during a corner. You fall on the side of the bike that was low to the ground.

Highside= Wheels grab/hit something hard, bike (and rider) go ass-over-teacups. 1:36, major owies.

Sorry his-and-hers, looks like you beat me to the punch.
Bummer to hear about the slide, glad your ok Dave.

how much crap were you haulin brother?

I had a tank bag, tail bag, and a backpack with a sleeping bag and pad. Lots of stuff

What all were you wearing?

All Alpine stars.

My jacket has some scuffs, the pucks on the pants ground down a little(thats what they're for) My gloves have a whole, which sucks cuz I just bought them so I only got about 10 minutes of use out of them. Hopefully I can find someone to patch the leather.

No insurance claim, i forgot to lower my deductible(which I've done now). Hopefully it will come out under $500 total.

If i were you dave i would be calling emailing alpine star and thank them for there high quality products and tell them what happend and and the glove had a hole even send them a pic likely they will trade you for new ones i had it happen with the helmet a bunch of years ago when i hit 100# dog on my bike.
who knows they may add more protection in there gloves in that spot

sorry to read about your off Dave , glad you arn't injured.how well did your axle sliders inhibit damage?

let us know what alpine say's dave i am in need of better gloves and some pants. If they take care of you it my make my decsion alot easier

Thanks for the site Steven. I order the parts I needed and it came out to $65 shipped. I paid $140 at the dealership yesterday, so I'll be canceling that order.

Glad to help. [up] Let me know of any hiccups, I don't want to push a site if it's service sucks.
