I walked into Harley a few min ago to pick up a new shift lever, a salesman that knows me grabbed me and pulled me into the back room... there was a 1190RX sitting there still in the crate. It should be on the showroom floor tomorrow.

First off, its ******* beautiful, the castings that make up the subframe and everything look real real nice.. top quality build. What stunned me was how tiny the bike is. Its Gloss and Matte black.. for you local guys, head on over there sometime after today and check it out.. they want 20K for it but I he also said they would consider a bit less..so Im thinking 18K.. its out of my price range and I want a streetfighter but it was worth just looking at it.. EBR is making some real nice looking street bikes.. looks just as nice if not better, than the photos of the RS I have seen. They only have one of them...

I stopped on Sunday but it was not there yet. I will stop on Thursday to drool over. I saw it at the AIMExpo in Orlando and was impressed. Bonus points for pulling up to Seminole with my 12R and getting the once over by the Harley guys. Some give me the evil eye but some come over with interest. I hope Seminole sets up an EBR corner like they used to have for Buell.

Its my understanding that there will be an EBR section... I am just waiting for the Hastur 620 to show up... Ill probably get one of those.

I don't mind that Seminole is selling them.. the have been good to me and the salesmen were happy to see Buell back in the dealership. First thing they did is try to sell it to me.. so they are doing their jobs.. he he

I have been there and they treated me ok as well I'm just surprised Erik is willing to do business with them again.

Well I think its Hero ... Hero wants access to the dealership network that EBR has.. that was part of the deal. Pretty sure that new Hero 250 and the Hastur 620 will be badged as EBR and sold right along side the 1190s... Ive been reading everything I can find on those other two bikes and Ill tell you they look sweet as HELL and they are going to be priced really low for the performance numbers.. the quality on the 250 looks real high, better than the ninja 300 and Honda 250... gonna be tough to beat.
now the fame and swingarms look to be tubular steel but that ok.. the curb weights are real low.
The numbers on it are better than the CBR250.. comes in a bunch of colors too.. looks like a sweet entry bike.. comes with street map and race map you can switch between the two by just pressing a button

Am I the only one who finds it disgusting that EBR is being sold through HD?
nope, seems pretty pathetic to me add the sell of 49% to hero and it looks like he didnt learn his lesson.

All though it would be nice to have EBR dealerships standing alone I understand the reasoning to go into existing dealership. The capital expenditure to start your own dealerships is, well, NOT CHEAP! Especially nation wide! I also believe that there were HD dealers who actually embraced Buells and grieved at their loss when Buell closed. When Seminole Harley sold Buells they were quite good to me, even having dedicated Buell personnel. Although I am not a black tee shirt, bandana Harley guy I do wish the dealers, that take on the EBR's, the best of luck. They are not being forced to do this, its their business decision. Here in Florida the bike market is aggressive(mostly due to the year round riding) so anything that brings in potential buyers must be looked at. To bring a sport bike model(even if it is "American") into a Harley dealership takes some cajones. You know what most black tee shirt, helmetless riders say when they see that "rice rocket" in their sacred temple. To stay in business you MUST SELL YOUR PRODUCT. What ever it takes.

Every time I pull in there I at least get "double takes".. as Im walking back out to my bike Ive caught them standing there looking it over... never heard one negative comment from the bandanna guys.. its usually stuff like "That thing looks badass, is it fun to ride?" that kind of stuff.. I must honestly say Ive never felt any bad vibes from the biker crowd once I realized that most of them have nothing against having Buells around.. I just walk around like its my space too and they don't even look twice... I guess they figure if you got nothing against Harley then they got nothing against you..

never heard one negative comment from the bandanna guys.
Perhaps this is why I don't feel the love from the bandanna guys in the HD parking lot?

Remember...if it WASN'T for H-D, we wouldn't have XB's. I seriously doubt there'd even be an EBR either. H-D gave Erik what he needed to build a decent 'affordable' production bike. THIS put him 'on the map'. I do NOT agree with the H-D powers that be's decision to quit building 'Buells'. I do NOT agree with how it appears they took advantage of him. However...as other posts have mentioned as well...there were (and STILL ARE!), some really good, dedicated H-D dealerships out there. THEY believed in Eriks product. The dealerships are privately owned....selling EBR has NOTHING to do with H-D themselves. And I as well get 'respect' and acknowlegment from the 'bandanna" crowd as you so refer to them. It was the "Harley" allure that got me even interested in the Buells. Many of my friends are 'old-school' Harley guys. MANY have mechanical abilities, rider experience and are TRUE riders...(MANY hours a day, cross-country trips, etc.), that exceeds MANY on this forum.(MYSELF included! Lol!). It was this "camaraderie'"...true friendships, if not close to a 'brotherhood' that I wished to be a part of. Some of the guys have built their own engines, and after seeing some being built, being an engine guy, well....I really wanted in too! I just was NOT into riding a 'cruiser' style of bike yet! Then came the Buells into the H-D dealers, and I was hooked! Call it a tractor motor, antiquated......whatever.....an XB has a character of its own, SIGNIFIED from the Harley powertrain. I REALLY like the 1125 and EBR's, and they ARE true performance machines....but they will never have that same soul. NEVER!

The XB engine is like a mad scientist's experiment that turned out good. I love it, but never would have imagined it would have been such a great powerplant in the sport bike.

I don't really have a problem with the HD dealerships selling EBR, I'm just surprised that Erik is willing to deal with anything related to HD. I hate harley's they are overpriced, outdated, poor performance, etc but still to each their own my dad and brother both have harley's and love them.
