It is very cold here today, about 17 degrees (believe it or not, even for wisconsin, this is way below average)
but I got my bike started and running after a engine replacement! I am a bit of a ham-fisted mechanic, so it was/is not without it's challenges. Thanks all who have helped with advice along the way!
Question (first of a couple):
need help identifying this wire, seems it was left out when the motor got put back in. It is part of the main harness by the front belt sprocket. It is a green wire with a yellow stripe with a black, rubber L shaped boot on it.
(see pictures, hopefully they make it reasonably clear.)
I could not find it in the manuals schematics...
Question 2:
It seems to be running really rich. I put on a non-buell exhaust (a cut down Yoshi). It starts, and idles and runs strong, but has a hard time re-starting immediately after shutting it off, smelling very rich.
As far as I know, standard ECM on the bike. Will having it mapped help with this? I am currently researching the spy cable and all that is with that to get the TPS reset. Need to get the cable and a laptop tho...
I ran codes and I came up with #14:
Engine Temp sensor
Am going to dig into this as well, apparently, it's on the rear head, a bit of a pain to get at and inspect, but thus the way of the buell.
Anyways, again, thanks for any help you can offer! (and yes, I know, how dare I put on any exhaust other than one of Buells designs... I like it, sounds awesome, is much lighter and more ground clearance...)
