shrill sound.

Today a guy stopped suddenly in front of me. i was in about fourth gear. i pulled in the clutch hit the brakes to slow down then i swerved around him and gave it some throttle.. i stayed in fourth and heard a weird shrill like metal on metal.pulled over to check if there was anything leaking or hanging off the bike. nothing. anyone have this problem or know what happened. kinda freaked me out.

I think your talking about pinging!That happens to me if I open throttle at low RPM in 3 or 4 gear with a hot motor at hot days.
Still dont know how to solve that.

that would be the sound of uber lugging the engine?

i down shifted pretty quickly after the shrill and uber lug. but it almost sounded like when your car is already runnning and you turn the key. it seems to be fine but still weird.
