So check it, My jacket zipper has been doing quite the number on my airbox cover. So I was all crying about it on Friday. I didn't know if I wanted to repaint my bike, get one of those fancy Buell stick on tank protectors or what. So there I was, driving past a Checkers (O'Riley's) Autopart stores, and I grab a can of Spray on Truck bedliner in the aerosol variety. I pull the airbox cover off, tape off the right and left sides and get to spraying. I did three coats, pull the tape, and WHOA, I'm in love.

Throw it all back together, then feel like the bike isn't evenly matched. So I spray the seat cowl and center of the chin fairing.
Then, yesterday Xtreme6669 and some others cruised 400 miles. KILLER, No chicken strips here. Xtreme6669 had about 3 inches of CS (BURN)

I did this on several smaller parts of my bike. Thought about doing what you did but didn't have the balls. Yours looks good, making me think about doing it again. Great job.

Thanks for the props.

Defender88 - Yea, I did this on another bike of mine and I noticed that. Luckily it's only $10 for another can, I can always do another coat. It's too bad they can't keep this stuff to keep it's color.

Awesomely,
Eric

Would a coat of matte black krylon or something help it keep it's color while allowing it to maintain the bedliner texture?

Miami - You might be onto something. I looked at the can of bedliner, it says it's paintable. So maybe I can give it the Krylon Touch.

Nice! I've been thinking about painting my translucent red flyscreen black to match my airbox cover (or at least get it to a close match)...I think this would be a much better option to get the two to match, and would stand up better to my tank bag at the same time...

If you do krylon it please post pics or let us know how it turns out!

I've been spraying Rhino Liners for about 3 years now at our shop in Edwardsville, IL. It's great stuff, tho my airbox cover and flyscreen are staying translucent red. :D

As far as your two bikes - looks great! [up]

if you go to a place that does it they can clear it, and the good brands like herculiner last a lot longer then duplicolor or the walmart stuff

Nice[up] always wanted to do that style liner to a bike in the street fighter style. Looks good. I have 2 gallons of herculiner in my garage for my old truck i sold. giving my ideas.. tempting..

Looks good Midnight....and dont bust on Xtrem for his CS's. The strips on the 1125's are much harder to eliminate than the XB's. I know it sounds weird, but the strips are gone on my XB but I still have about 3/4 of an inch on my CR and I ride them the same. :(

03Firebolt9R - That is weird about your CR. I was just messing with Xtreme, he by far out rides me. I'm just a squirel tryin to get a nut on these turns.

I do need to get an 1125 though, It truly is an amazing bike

LOL! CS BURN!!

Thanks Firebolt... I knew there was something about the 1125 tire/wheel set up that was funky... I was running the same pace as the other 5 bikes in the group and everyone of them wore the tire to the edge but me.... I think it might be the pirelli corsa 3's... I'm almost due for a tire so I'm swapping to a Pilot!

The rhino liner came out great Eric!
