RamAir, how are you lifting the front like that? with the forks being different lengths. are you using a rear stand also?

I was using a rear at the time but they fit pretty good even with the different lengths.

The attachments move so it positions itself nicely. I had the front wheel/axle out today and it still felt nice and sturdy

I got another ? for you guys. how did you remove your old wheel bearings? some sort of bearing puller? thanks

I initially tried punching them from the back side with a screwdriver but there wasn't any bite(the spacer is the same diameter as the bearing. I then tried a blind puller, still no bite. Finally I cut one bearing out of each wheel with a dremel and cut off wheel (CAREFULLY!!!) then was able to punch the other sides out. This was a PITA(what a bad design).

I cut three notches in my wheel spacers, for future use. This way I can get behind the bearings to punch them out. See the pic:

I don't know how others get the job done with a blind bearing puller, mine had absolutely no lip at all to grab.

I think next time I have to do the wheel bearings I'll make a tool out of threaded rod, two nuts, and three "legs" where the legs will fit in the notches I made in the spacers, then tighten the two nuts down, then hit the rod with a mallet on the opposite end and it'll knock the bearings out with ease. I was just trying to set myself up so I wouldn't have to cut the bearings out again next time. It would still be rather difficult as is to do with a screwdriver.

Come to think of it, the blind pulley would probably fit now in the notches I made as well...

The fronts I bought off ebay, they were the cheapest ones I could find IIRC. I'll post the brand if I can find it. They work just fine.

I just bought rears and they came today, they are EBC, I also bought them from John(lunaticfringe IIRC). They are for the brembo caliper off a ducati though since I'm doing the hidden rear caliper mod.

I just installed the Lyndall Gold pads front/rear on mine and as for the bearings, the front wheel was easy as pie with a long socket and extension and hammer but the rear wheel was a pita. Had to knock the snot out of the spacer to move it down to get bite on the bearing, when it moved it pushed the bearing out a bit then just hammered away, once one side is out the other is easy with the spacer out of the way. I like that idea of the notches, I should have done that while I had mine apart lol.

Damn lunatic, all this kindness AND you have your own helmet.....sheeez.:D
