Ticking sound?

buell racing exhaust, racing ECM, open airfilter

is it normal sound? or ticking?

I think it is coming from head. Not in primary.

I always thought my bike was loud but yeah there's definitely something wrong with that noise

O wow, that does not sound good at all. It almost sounds like the timing is mechanically wrong. Maybe a collapsed lifter? Something in the valve train... though the audio over youtube is not ideal.

Has the bike always sounded like that? If not, when did it start?

Mine gives off a slightly similar sound, but definitely not that loud. That just doesn't sound right at all...

have you tuned it with ECMSpy or loaded racemaps?

previous owner tuned it. I think this sound just started 3days ago.

The sound starts when the engine is warm.

I changed primary and engine oil today. still same sound. but runs great and starts great.

Is it possible to make that sound if i didn't reset TPS?

I remember seeing a HD bulletin about 04' xb's and it spoke of noticeable crankshaft play >0.010 at 10k.

sounds like Valvetrain... what Oil do you use??

did you visually inspect header, ports, and fasteners for a crack and/or exhaust leak? just curious.

I use mobil1 20w50.. yes I cheked visually..

How can i check the Oil pump is working properly?
