Tin Foiled the lights

Here's what the inside of my headlight looked like after I put foil in there, it's kind of wrinkly (very hard to keep it smooth) but I think it should be ok, just looking at the headlight you can already tell its a lot brighter! Hopefully the results are good at night too! I have a few step by step pics if anyone is interested.

I got my foil a bit tighter than you have on yours. I got some heavy duty foil, it seemed to be easier to shape. I re-did both of mine a couple of times before I was happy with it. Not sure how to describe but I kind of laid mine there circling it around. It did take two pieces, kind of like yours is now. I took my time and shaped it in there. I let it hang out over the sides and bolted the lens back on so that it would hold the foil in place. Then came back and trimmed off what was hanging out.

I rode down a really dark back country road the other week just to try mine out and I was very happy with the results. I would say that I now probably have about 5 times the light output that I had before. I do need to adjust mine a little better but I am very happy with mine. And, you can not tell from looking at the bike that there is tin foil in the head lights.

Yeah, I used the "heavy duty" foil from Walmart I'm assuming haha. I do wish I could've gotten it a little tighter, but I did everything they same way you mentioned. Let me get a couple more pics uploaded.

As promised...

Remove the headlights from the assembly, should be 4 screws per lens.

Separate the two pieces by removing the four screws on the back of the lens. You can now insert the foil.

Once you put the two pieces back together, trim out the excess foil!

That is pretty much how I did mine. It is very simple, cheap and it worked! I have had mine like this for a little bit now and they are still doing great. I have HID's in my bike too and now they can really light up the road.

If you did have to glue them... maybe a touch of high temp silicone?
This is a great idea.
Have my new headlight kit (light and relays) in hand and just need to
open it up and fix.
