After much digging into this issue. Retuning, replacing parts, and cussing late into the night, I think I found a breakthrough.
I ran a new 10 gauge ground from the negative terminal of the battery, straight to the bolt securing the coil pack to the engine.
The sputter is gone and its back to pulling all the way though the power band. After doing some digging, the grounding system on these bikes is horrid.
Not sure if this will fix everyone's issues, but for some it should work. I would almost recommended that everyone with a XB does this.
