Hi all! So as I was out riding briefly this morning (little bit chilly this morning in NJ) I noticed it again that there seems to be a little bit of a delay between when I twist the throttle to when the bike responds. This doesn't happen through the entire range only just off idle, and sometimes it's a little distracting when riding. Any thoughts?? I was thinking of hooking up my ECMspy and trying out the Tps reset but haven't ever used the software before so I was a bit wary. Also anyone have heated grips installed?? If so, where did you get them and how do you like'em??? Thanks in advance for your input!!! - Dan

yes on the grips. have them on 4 of my XB's and have installed them on perhaps another 10 others. see link below. make sure you buy for 7/8th size OD bars and buy the cycle grips.....NOT the ATV style grips. single best thing IMO you can do for comfort on a bike. the bikemaster grips work nicely, heat up quickly, the controller is robust and easy to locate, the thickness and style of the grips is really nice, and very easy to install and wire.

Hay John good find and great price. I have heated gloves but thinking of heated grips so I don't need bulky heated gloves once again nice find.

ricky: i had a pair of gerbing heated gloves several years ago and really hated them. big and bulky and a PITA to run the wires down your sleeves, plug together, plug into power source and get moving. i think for snowmobiling they're probably fine but on a bike i hated them. you'd love heated grips.

Just ordered the grips! Thanks for the link!

glad you found them dan. you'll have to get a bit creative mounting the little controller if you have a firebolt but on all others it's very simple. i always wire them into the headlight assembly harness and change the fuse box headlight blade fuse from 10 amps to 15 amps. the grips on high only draw like 3 amps. hope that helps. any questions on the install just let me know.

Awesome, I'll probably do the same thing so I'm not running wires all over the place. And the fuse panel is nice and close so I can shorten the wires and have minimal excess

dan: as a suggestion what i do on lightnings and ulysses is this: remove the fusebox cover and look at schematic under cover. replace the 10 amp headlight fuse with a 15. then go to front of bike and remove flyscreen. that reveals the headlight wiring plug and harness. pull it apart. has orange/white/yellow/black. orange is switched positive and black is ground. run the grip wiring thru back of headlight bucket support shell and up into bucket. wire positive grip wire to orange....negative grip wire to black. that is your hook up and works nicely. then bundle the grip wiring looms neatly and place inside the bucket.
