"Umbra" Bike Build

This bike is really really clean. You did a bang up job in all areas. You added splashes of red in the right spots! [up]

Damn good looking bike. In my opinion, that tail light is by far the sharpest out there.

Where did you get it?

Between you and Onelogue's builds, yall have inspired me to want to make some changes!

+1

Netty, The tail light is most likely a custom job, there are a couple guys who did this mod.

Do a search for "Lasertail" on the forum, you should find a couple more links in that thread.

In response to everyones questions...

The frame and swingarm total cost around 350-400 for everything.

The tail was a custom fab by myself. I took the stock cheesgrater and cut it off right along the main rail line. Then it was off to the powdercoater. When I got it back I got an led brake light strip from chromeglow. 8.6" to 9" is a good length and make sure to get a dual element for it so it is a running brake and also brighter when you hit the brakes. Had to drill one hole in the back to fit the wires through but you cant even see it. If youre really interested in doing it but are on edge about cutting into it (which was the hardest thing for me... to start cutting into stuff) send it to me and I can fab it up for you for a decent price. I have a lot more stuff that went into it but wont post that on here as Im sure people dont want a novel right now. PM me if you want the info though.

XB12 I dont have a front fairing sorry.. just cut mine up and sent it to the painter =/

Now back to the build.. Heres my progress for today: I got the front brake caliper painted and put the brake fluid in, got the rear brake caliper on and routed the reservoir under the seat, put both rearsets on, attached the new front pulley, pulley cover, and pulley guard. I cant think of anything else I may have missed something though. Tomorrow should be one of my last days hopefully, Ill be getting my front fairing back and then Itll be roadworthy... If I have time the fairings will go on but I need to fab up some mounts for them.

PICS!!

Looking good man!! Now get some sliders on there to protect it (some) ;)

Well I didnt have much to do today.. I got the side fairings on, which was easier than expected.. Tomorrow is my final day.. ill be picking up the headlight fairing in the morning so finished pics of the bike will be up tomorrow afternoon. Also I did finally find my mockup of what I wanted the bike to look like... Came out pretty close I think..

lo0oking nice too. loiked the mock up with the polished lips and red stripe and the seat. are you doing that too?

I may do the stripe in the seat but no polished lip.. and yes xtremelow sent me a picture to use for my mock ups..hence the polished lip that I wont be doing and a couple other differences.

Can't wait to see what it looks like with the front fairing and those mirrors. The fairings looks pretty good as well!

So the side fairings are off now lol.. I may put them back on but most likely not. Front fairing is on and looks great. I will put pics up later today.
