I laid the bike down. Low speed on a really steep hill turning down hill into a parking lot. The framesavers took the majority of the hit. Broke my left footpeg and my brake lever. Nothing else damaged (thank god).

Where should I look to find a replacement footpeg? Is there a source online for OEM replacement parts? Should I just call the stealership?

When I do do the replacement, do I have to replace the whole rearset, or can I just replace the footpeg?

Thanks for any suggestions and/or answers. I'm going to put some CRG levers and mirrors on the bike now that I have an excuse to do so :D

if just the peg broke you only need to replace the peg. which side was it i have a right side as long as it's not the 1in drop peg. my local stealership is pretty cool i could talk to them for you if you want me to ship you something. same with the brake lever.

I'm not sure if it's the 1" drop peg. It's the right side rider footpeg that came stock with the 2009 XB12Ss.

I think I'm going to install Pazzo levers on my bike instead of just replacing the broken one with another stock, but thanks for the offer!

Ebay is always a good resource as well. Especially for the CRG levers

You WON'T regret that. If you can't get a better deal, I believe the pegs are $25 a set @ the stealership.

Here's the set I was talking about ($25.75):

Seems the local dealership has a right side only available for 16 bucks, although I might want to pick up a set just in case I ever go down on the other side.

Anyone replace theirs with some aftermarket rider's pegs that are better?

Bought the Pazzo's and got some CRG bar end mirrors. Looking forward to getting them on the bike. It was something I was planning on doing at some point anyway.

Knight-design makes some killer black oxidized foot pegs that will complement the blacked out look of your 09.Right now I think he only sells on E-bay though.I don't have a set yet,but I'm saving up for this winter's round two of mods![up]

Yeah, I had a guy in a minivan back into my '06 12Ss and knock it over at my chiropractor's office. Bent the front brake lever, broke off the mirror, broke the footpeg, and chewed up the frame puck a little - couple of other misc. little scuffs, too.

I was able to bend back the brake lever without it breaking off the tip, amazingly, but I replaced it anyway. I was also surprised at how easily the footpeg broke off, but I suppose that's intentional to prevent it from breaking the frame instead - that would suck.

The good thing is the guy waited for me and his insurance called ME first. I got the price on the parts and called him instead to let him just cut me a check ($150 isn't worth a claim), which he did. All is well.

Chris
