You could always get an exhaust custom made. :)

I haven't tried making the bracket to hold the chin fairing, but I know Jardine sells them separate if you've gotta have that.

This one was just my first attempt for an XB, netted a 10% gain in power over stock.

I might just have to do that. Ordering from the UK is stressful. I asked them if the one I ordered was for a US bike and then I confirmed it with them before I sent payment. They still sent me the wrong one.

so your bike is making 113 hp.if you can show me a dyno slip im in for one.

Nope, never said that. 10% gain over stock, at the wheel. The bike I used showed 85 hp at the wheel (xb12scg) and ended with 94 at the wheel, no fuel changes, nothing done to the ecm. Find me a bone stock xb12 making 103 hp at the wheel, I'll build you one for my cost. They made 103 at the CRANK. Figure 15-20% driveline losses, that gets you a good estimate on what most xb12's will make at the wheel.

Yeah, and read the revision, they stated that the correction factor was off. Stock had 101 hp, the BEST performing pipe only gained 4 HP. What's that tell ya? Something was wrong with the testing, I won't bother repeating it all. I run mine on one of 2 dyno's, usually both just to verify my results. They normally match each other within 1-2 hp.

I've read over that shootout several times, looked at all the designs out there and still think there's more available in the engine. How much, I have NO idea. It will cost me plenty in dyno runs to find out though.

yeah results show 5% higher than actual so a 100hp reading would be around 95hp.but i like the looks of yours more than my d&d and they should they should be similar in horsepower and torque im right around 100 hp.so how much are you getting for yours and what is the sound like.

Actually, that 5% seems off to me. Yes, that's what they said as far as how far off it was. I'm just saying, look at almost ANY bike out there on the market. They almost invariably quote crank horsepower. The xb12, 103 hp, at the crank. Now look at the vast majority of dyno runs. Most stock xb12's end up between 85-88 hp. Why? Driveline loss through the transmission, etc. Figure they lose 15-20% power from the crank to the wheel. Now that it's "lost" 18 hp or so, you're right back down to the range where the one I tested is at. 85 hp at the wheel.

I don't look at absolute numbers normally, I look at a percentage of gain over the stock run of the bike I'm testing on. I posted the dyno runs above.

I'm not saying 100 hp at the wheel (on an xb) isn't possible, I'd like to get there with something I build. Can I? Dunno yet. I've only gained about 9 hp and the same in torque so far, but I haven't done anything to the fuel or timing maps yet either.

I did the same thing on the 1125. Stock average is 122 hp at the wheel. I'm consistently getting 137+ but what's really neat is at about 8000-8500 rpm, it's more than 20 hp stronger than stock and 13 ft/lbs more torque. There's only a couple of pipes out there that can do that, especially for just a slipon. Probably the only way you'd get more is go to a full race system.
