Issue number 1: There is a slight clanking sound coming from the bottom right side by where the Vs come together.

Issue number 2: No brake light. Front or Rear switches.

Issue number 2 I'm not so worried about. Issue number 2, however, I am

Hahahaha I really hope that sparky300 is wrong about number 2 because that's hilarious! And for number 1 I could be way off but are you talking about the cam cover?

1. right below in the crankcase, yes

2. Bulb is fine. Its either both switches went bad or there is just a wiring issue. Honestly shouldn't have even bothered mentioning #2 haha

I would pull the cover off and at least start with a visual inspection. as for the light with your bike off press the rear brake as hard as you can and see if the light comes on I had that problem with the pressure plunger. Then you could narrow it down to front brake switch.

I suppose I should have mentioned this before.

For issue #1, I don't own the bike yet. So I can't actually tear it apart. I'm just wondering what it might be. Only about 7k miles and will only cost me $3k for the bike.

Don't get it you can get a really good buell with no issues for just a couple hundred more check this site, craigslist, etc, but dont buy the bike that could be such a big issue around the cam area it will make you regret buying a buell and thats not what we want. And you could chase electrical issues forever. Seriously FOREVER.

I would be pretty skeptical of something making wacky engine noises. But if you can take it to a reputable shop and have them give a yea or neigh on it, that may be worth your time.

Not to be an ass, but I lost my brake light and checked the bulb and could've sworn it was good. Keep it simple, try a new bulb first.

Not trying to scare you but a recent post on "severe knocking" from the crankcase area, idk if it's similar to your issue or not

xb9 engine knock

Or, it may not be relative to your issue at all
