Crashed last year. Layed bike down on left side. Shift peg took a big blam to the concrete. Grinded down the shift peg a fuzz. Not to bent up or anything.

So now the bike will not shift properly. Sometimes its stuck it in first gear and I cant get in neautral unless I ride for a little while. Sucks. I can't get in neutral at a red light unless I rev up pull up and light get it in. Any advice?

Keep a bunch rubber bands with ya when you ride, when you get to a stop slap that puppy around the grip and clutch handle. You won't need to worry about gettin er in nuetral no more. When the light turns green rip it off and your good to go.:D

sounds like ur shift shaft is out of whack at the case entry, maybe bent. the impact probably jarred the shaft and might have warped it,

when u rev it up, in neutral or with the clutch engaged, the engine moves not the trans, so look at ur clutch lever, cable too.

A bike in neutral at a stop light adds very critical time to perform an evasive maneuver.

Tear into it. I would suggest video taping yourself while tearing it down. That way you will have a reference when going back together with it.

i would agree with 07bolts detail. had a mate with exactly that. the lever seemed ok, but the shaft in was bent and was outa whack. didnt notive it at first but as time went on the bike ran for a while after, but hten got worse and worse till no more gear changes.

and baja... you are really starting to resemble a fuktard. select a different gear!

Take your time and take a lot of pictures like bfletcher said, that way you have the pics to look back on just in case. Good luck and hope its something easy.

Theres nothing scary or difficult about looking in the primary, your shift shaft is simple and straight forward. Make sure to put a punisher sticker on the inside of the primary while its off.
