i had only ever bored one set of clamps like that, but i remember i had to machine a shim to be able to compress the bolt to increase the finish quality.

on another note.....i hear Fadal is coming back into the scene. not sure if theyre ready yet, but there are a lot of the old VMCs out there.

just cant justify something like that for my 2-car garage. lol

are you setting up a program for the one-off jobs like the clamps or hittin it with MDI?

There is a bolt and 2 washers holding the clamps tight. There is a tad of chatter but not much.

I use mazitrol to program most of the quick stuff.

^^ IMO the mt has the best looking single unit light setup in production. LOVE them on xb's. One of those units are going on my next xb. Good choice [up]

I like them too. I was torn between it or a v rod setup. This bike will be curvy and angular, so it was a tough choice.

Made an ignition cover slider. I'll probably round it over instead of keeping it pointed. I'll also dye it black.

This is what I plan on doing to the swingarm. Windowing it.

Buell race muffler weighs approximately 11.5 pounds.

New mufflers weigh around 6.5 lbs.

New headers will probably be about 2 pounds heavier than stock, due to design and material thickness. So hopefully all said and done the new setup will be about 3 pounds lighter and make 8 to 10 more horsepower with a proper tune.

Thinking I'm going to make a new idler wheel. The stock one is 4.5" diameter. I think I can go an inch smaller without hurting the belt. If the belt is bent too sharp it will hurt the Kevlar internal threads and cause the belt to weaken and break. The pulley is about the same size as the front drive pulley.

I'll have to slot the mounting holes so I can lift the pulley 1/2" to retain the proper belt tension. This will give me an extra inch of clearance under the pulley to slide the mufflers rearward more.

would you have to make a new bracket for the idler pulley as well? I'd want something a bit more that a slot, though it's been done with other applications, just piece of mind.

I think it would probably work fine with the slot. Im talking about slotting the upper of the two mounting stud holes, not where the idler wheel attaches to the bracket. Ill probably make a recess at the correct position of the slot where a washer will drop in and lock the bracket into position. then there would be no chance of it moving or loosening up. Ill also be using the 2 mounting studs to mount my rear master cylinder and brake lever.

Where did you find that headlight setup?

I ordered the headlight from my friend Nick at Moto-Madness. Here is the link. http://www.moto-madness.com/lsl-urban-mt-03-headlight-unit-p-1566.html?cPath=7_337

you can get it with or without the mounting brackets. The mounts cost more than the headlight itself.
