As most of you know i got my pipe installed and headed to the HD dealer that told me they can tune my bike.Well after 3 hours of standing around and 50 people walking around with there heads cut off. Some one walks up to me and says Sir im really sorry for the wait but we can't tune your bike here.I don't know who told you that we can.So i tell them that it was the service manager.Well she goes back for 10 min's comes back and says he is in a meeting and will call me when he gets out....Still no call........

i dont think they know how to tune it. imagine that. what year buell? also do you have any tuning software? i can help ya on that if you need[up]

Well its a 08 firebolt xb12r and no but i guess i am goin to have to find one somewhere I could use the help if you can help me.

no problem where are you at? i can try to find a shop that has direct-link and knows how to use it. ill let you know from there.

if they dont know how to use it i can train them to do so. a lot of people dont know too much about the software and its pretty easy to use and it doesnt have any piggy back stuff.

like i said i will see what i can do to help you out.

go to mpiinnovations.com the info is there on some of the stuff. also check out americansportbike.com
they carry the tuning stuff for the xb's
hope this helps you. let me know

Well i went to both web sites and sent americansportbike.com a message.I think i am goin to buy the direct link and learn how to do it myself.Or i can bring it to HD down here and let them do it on the dyno.

wtf man...what's with these u.s. dealers??? [confused]

if they have a dyno, they can tune it...if they don't, then why do they say they can???

Another thing to consider too is, they may have a dyno, but do they have the software to even tune an ECM? And yet another thing, do they know how to tune it properly even if they have the things to do the tune with?

if they are interested enough, it doesn't take a genius...
get a someone to teach the basics, but more importantly the understanding what does what and the rest is all training and testing.
that's where the interest comes in handy [smirk]

i agree in a major way. that is what i do. is teach people how to tune and use specific software. just seems like people are lazy now a days and dont want to work. just do the fast and easy stuff.

If you're really into it, you should mess around with ECMSpy or buy one of Xopti's maps. Check out Buellitinboard.com and read through the threads on the ECMSpy software. There's a user named XoptimizedrsX who is a guru of Buell ECM tuning. Our ECMs are actually pretty close to standalone units, with LOTS of control over timing, fuel, etc. You can put together the PC cable, d/l the free software, and try to do the tuning yourself with his free guidance, or you can buy one of his maps (year-, upgrade-, and intensity-specific) for a reasonable price.
