Hey everyone! Maybe someone can help me figure this out...not every time, but pretty often, and usually only from 2nd to 1st, when I twist the throttle to match speeds the motor sort of cuts out for a second and there is an almost snapping noise and then the motor comes back. Anyone ever hear of this? Any suggestions.

About what rpm are you blipping the throttle at to match the bike speed when going from 2nd to 1st?...

These long-stroke, single-throw HD mills have heavy flywheels and are pretty slow-revving, especially the XB12 models. They don't respond to quick throttle blips very well. This condition seems even worse at lower revs (like you may be running between 2nd & 1st) and with the stock maps, which cause the hesitation & stuttering symptoms you describe.
I'd start with a TPS reset which will help somewhat with throttle response if it's been a while since you last did this proceedure.

Failing that, I'd look at remapping, either doing it yourself or purchasing a pre-programmed ECM (this virtually eliminated the problem for me).

Also, try down-shifting at higher revs. This can be a bit of a challenge on urban streets with the taller gearing of the 12 because you'll be downshifting to first at atleast 50km/h (30 mph), but it will help eliminate the hiccup.

I am usually going 20 or less when I shift down to 1st. I tried your suggestion on the way into work tonight cytocis, and it seemed to help. I definitely need to do a TPS reset though too. I am going to be ordering a cable soon so I can do that. Thanks for the tips!
