Not to worry guys - In a WLO/SHTF/civil war scenario, which is looking more and more probable by the day (please reference the OP's meme), these type of folks won't make it past the first 90 days. Do I want to see wholesale starvation and slaughter happening amongst the American populace...

Still no fire in front jug... About done with it

Yea, I thought you were able to give rep points or thanks on here. This is the same setup as a gun forum I frequent where there is a "thank this post" option. I would pay it forward and try to help out someone seeking advice on here, but seeing as how I can't even remember to plug in a bunch...

Still no fire in front jug... About done with it

Holy ****. Ya'll wanna hear a funny story? So the plug wires came last week from ironmachine. com (PSA - avoid these. Price and shipping were good and I'd buy from them again but these plugs were 10x harder to get on than OEM. With the plug out and holding it and the wire close to my...

Still no fire in front jug... About done with it

Thanks again to everyone for the input. I'm working twelve hr shifts thru Friday (with an hour commute to boot) so no chance I'll get to it before the weekend.

Still no fire in front jug... About done with it

Thanks all for the input. Definitely not an injector issue - finally got around to pulling plugs after several attempted starts (no fire in the rear this time either). They're fouled and need replacing. With throw in new plug wires as well (anyone had any luck with aftermarket wires?)...

Still no fire in front jug... About done with it

Lunatic - Thats the one thing I haven't done - fresh fuel. I thought you were always supposed to wait for CEL to burn out. Haven't taken the plug out since the last time it fully cranked. It was getting fuel. Chikn - High Point? I'm over here just west of Hillsborough Thanks for the input

Still no fire in front jug... About done with it

'07 12R – 18,000 mi. I'll sum it up as briefly as possible: Bike was last on the road Nov '14. When last running it exhibited signs of a bad CPS. Winterized it, didn't get back to it until summer '15. Tested the coil – it's good (didn't have oscilliscope for CPS). Went ahead and got new...

    TPS reset in traffic jam

Do you have any pics of you with the bike hooked to a laptop in traffic? That would make you kinda famous around here! What was your AFV reading? How did your plug wires get damaged?

    ECMSPY Connection Issue

Interesting ^ Same exact thing happened to me. I have an 07 and did a reset on it awhile back. Now i get the 'cannot detect comport' msg. Frustrating.

    got Engine code 21 today

Ah ha. Yes, the D&D uses no valve nor cable. Do you know if your ECM has the stock fuel mappings? That would be something to look into. You have quite an education ahead of you, my friend! But I really applaud your choice in brand. What other bikes have you owned? Ive had my 07 12R for 4...

    got Engine code 21 today

ECMspy - free. Cable - around $30 bucks or make your own for even cheaper. It's worth it even if all you plan to do is use it for TPS resets. Do you even really want to keep the exhaust valve operational? First thing I did when I got mine was pull the cable and tack the valve open. Sounds...

Grrrrrrrr.... Im 'bout to push her over...

^ yeah - your index finger and thumb with the motor turned down! Then connect to the coil once you bolt it back up. Otherwise - don't touch it with bare metal anything. Use dielectric grease and go SLOW.

Grrrrrrrr.... Im 'bout to push her over...

Oh absolutely. The one or two times I'll crank any of my bikes in the off-season (the XB mostly just to hear that beautiful noise) I let them run until they've been at full op temp for at least a few minutes. With the Buell it's easy - when the fan kicks on I let her run for about three...

Oh yeah, if you don't have the PureGas app on your smartphone - get it. It will tell you who's selling e-free gas and what grade(s) they have it in.

Grrrrrrrr.... Im 'bout to push her over...

but but but... I thought the iridium plugs were magical. The gas is definitely a bit old. I put some Sta-bil in when I parked but I've always thought the effectiveness of that stuff was slightly suspect. I usually ride way out of my way to get ethanol free gas and have even taken several gas...

Grrrrrrrr.... Im 'bout to push her over...

cytosis - yea that sounds about right. I'd never heard of that before but it was WAY louder than your typical backfire. I know its the rear bc last time I got it to run, hearing that it was down one, I put my hand on both headers. I could leave my hand on the rear. First thing I'll do is...

Priming is just fine. Threw in some iridiums abt a year and a half ago. I was under the impression that w/ the iridium plugs you can put them in and forget abt them. Thx for the replies - and anyone going riding this w/e - have fun!
