    Another clutch adjustment question..

I haven't been riding in months and I just put on a new set of pro taper Carmichael bars and needed to re-adjust my clutch after and what I never really was sure of is when turning that "screw" counter clockwise until it stops, does that mean until you can no longer turn it after a bit of force...

Is this gap normal? (front axle)

Thanks lunaticfringe. Completely agree on the anti-seize. I used a torque wrench but I think it may have failed since it really should have clicked off but just kept going. I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong and nothing is stripped.

Is this gap normal? (front axle)

Thanks guys. I haven't been riding much the last few months and haven't been paying much attention to the bike as it has just been in safe storage. Finally getting some maintenance done and getting it back on the road. I appreciate the help.

Is this gap normal? (front axle)

Just had a new tire put on and while putting my front wheel back on I notice a gap between the fork and one side of the wheel. There is no gap on the side with the rotor/brake. I don't recall seeing the gap before but then again I never looked for it. I also am wondering if the pinch bolts look...

    XB12 Oil cap/ dip stick

I feel like an idot. Assuming HD would charge about $15+ shipping I bought a used one for $10 shipped. Wish I knew they were that cheap.

Part number for oil dip stick?

Can't seem to find anybody selling the stock oil dipstick for my 04 xb12s so I'll have to try HD. Anybody have the part number? I think it's only for the 03-04 models.

    Jardine chin fairing/exhaust bracket

Its a starting point. I've got repairs to pay for, but I'm accepting offers as you can see on the auction. Still cheaper than buying an aftermarket. Plus, its available.

    New scg owner, Huge mistake

I understand why people would torque considering things tend to vibrate loose on Buells. I am particularly paranoid about drain plugs and oil filters coming loose but you can feel that those plugs would easily strip out under that kind of pressure.

    water in primary again!

I agree with Sirius, but did you replace the gasket last time you took off the inspection cover? If not, you may be getting some water in there.

Is this tire safe to ride on?

I'm not sure what the previous owner did to wear this tire so hard on one side but I've continued to ride it for quite a while. I hadn't noticed how bad it was until tonight and I'm supposed to go on a 3 hour ride tomorrow down to Carmel. I know it can be hard to tell from photos, but do you...

    Recommended bar WIDTH

Good point lunatic fringe. I hadn't thought about that. I have rentals now but I'm not sure which model. I'll have to look into that. I imagine something lower would be safe.

    Recommended bar WIDTH

I know I need 7/8 but what else do I need to look for when choosing new bars. My current renthals are too narrow for standard grips. I'm on a tight budget so nothing fancy. Some old used bars are fine as long as they are not bent.

Help! Fitting A New Battery Strap

also facepalming for not thinking of the velcro. I left mine unbuckled for months because although I was able to stretch it far enough I just couldn't get the damn thing to latch. Drove me crazy injuring myself every time I tried to get it back on.

Another sticky throttle thread. Lube it?

TCazes, I did adjust it and when both adjustment "wheels" are loosened all the way it allows just a bit more snap back, but barely makes a difference. I was trying to avoid it but I think I'm going to have to fully remove the cable and lube it tonight. Would multi purpose silicone lube spray be...
