    oil filter seal blows out

Actually Cooter called it, but if the relief valve is working, *theoretically* you could block everything off and it will just recirculate within itself.

    XB vs MONSTER vs SV

This was GREAT! (AND true!). This has NEVER happened to me yet. MOST Harley guys I know/meet think it's 'cool'. Some just plain have NO clue until they SEE it. That's always funny. Some H/D guys come up and look at it. "Look at that short little thing" Wow! That's a Harley engine in there?"...

How to avoid gas dot on the airbox

IF or when it does happen, there is a 2-part polish out there for plastic that works great. Trust me.....your coat zipper, pants button and who knows what WILL mark it up. This polish does keep them looking nice. It's in a blue bottle and white bottle, but I can't remember the name right now. If...

    Purchasing Advice

Exactly. Perhaps....bottom line...it didn't 'hurt' anything. I've been running around for the last 3 seasons (OVER 30K miles) with a Jardine that has to have no packing left.......essentially a straight pipe. IDK. BUT! Unless it IS a 'professional' looking job, (And it just MAY be), I would get...

    Purchasing Advice

Don't overthink the whole 'straight-pipe' issue. IF you like the bike, (colors, mileage, etc.), then go for it. It isn't priced out of line in any way. I know....EVERYONE bought THEIRS for $1200 or less.... IF I were buying, I'd shoot him an offer of say $3300 and bargain from there. I wouldn't...

    fuel pump o rings

Hello Rick! I just haven't been on here a lot as of late. Unfortunately it seems too many of the nuts from the facebook page of this forum have made it here. It WAS a great forum for a long time though! I will still check in from time to time though!! :)

    fuel pump o rings

Sorry fish......wasn't here for a while! Cooter hit it though. I bought the 'revised' harness from my dealer for mine. I didn't get it put in yet though. My pump runs all the time with key on/kill switch on, engine NOT running. (Where normally it primes and stops). Mine will prime and then slow...

    loses power

What does it do? Backfire, just lay down, drop a cylinder, etc. If it 'revs' ok but doesn't 'accelerate' then it sounds like clutch slippage. If indeed it is an 'engine' issue and NOT your clutch, why not START with the basics..... Check plugs first. Check your plug wires....some will rub...

Do the new EBR's run the same tire pressures as the XB's did?

    Cheap LED tail light

Ya get what you pay for. ONCE in a GREAT while you get something decent at a "cheap' price, But MOST times you're better off spending a little more once, than cheap out then buy the 'good' one later. :)

    Whats wrong with this XB?

And that would lead me to believe chances are it is NOT the gear....If he lost gears, I don't believe the OP would come back (so to speak). Unless you JUST did this, I'd change oil and filter and see where you are for OP then. I believe MOST of that noise is the lifters are collapsed from no/low...

    Whats wrong with this XB?

That's ALWAYS the BEST thing to do.....sit there and run it with no oil pressure...................Hell....it may not have any oil in the swingarm for all we know..........OF COURSE IT'S GOING TO TAP!! No oil pressure....hydraulic roller tappets.........Ugggh

A sign of things to come or random occurrence?

I'd START by taking the leads off the battery, scuff them up good with some coarse sandpaper, (The leads AND the battery terminals), then reinstall and make them good and tight. Then pull your relays out, scuff them with some scotchbrite or finer paper, put a small amount of dielectric grease on...

    Riding the Livewire tomorrow

Hey....if they want to buy it, why not sell it? While some of this statement IS true, (due largely in part from shows like OCC and all the others), there are still MANY hardcore customers who have been with H/D since the beginning of time. (Figure of speech). I personally know many......Let's...
