    palmer products

I contacted Iain and inquired if he had a used kit and he gave me a deal on a sample/demo kit for 150 USD which included shipping. Don't know exactly how much was shipping. Since it was an unfinished kit it took him a while to powder coat since they did it in batches. He was nice enough to...

    palmer products

I had to modify my Right Hand Scoop to install them. Other than that installation is pretty straight forward. My inseam is 30" and it would have been ideal if the pegs were 6 inches behind. I had to straighten my legs somewhat to reach them. That said it was a knee saver on my recent tour as I...

    Beull Lightning Tie Down Question

I did the 3000 mile trip. Glad to report the bike and trailer made it back safely. I only had 2 problems. 1. The trailer was vibrating/throbbing when going over 70mph. We could feel it in the van especially when the roads were very smooth. I started off with 70psi and gradually reduced it to...

where to buy Cruiser Peg kit?

I did a search and this is the only site I found which sells such a kit. I put mine on a XB9S. I had to modify the Right Hand Air scoop to install it.

Things to take on a one week Tour

The Chase Harper bags are smaller than most saddle bags but I was able to fit a one gallon gas can and some tools without any problems. They are not waterproof and do not come with rain covers. Everything that went into those bags were in Zip Lock bags. I got them really cheap from Craigslist so...

Things to take on a one week Tour

Bought the peg mounting kit from a guy from UK who knows how to tour. Very nice chap. I looked into making my own but there was no easy mounting points. Got the pegs from a local repair shop. http://palmerproducts.auto.officelive.com/buellxb12x.aspx

What do I need to know about riding in the Rain

Thanks for all your input. It rained here in Plano yesterday in the evening. Not heavy but it was a steady downpour. I put on my rain gear and went for a ride. 1. My visor got fogged. I will look for an anti fog spray. I could still see but not clearly. 2. My jacket which I thought was...

What do I need to know about riding in the Rain

Riding my XB9s on a one week tour. Any advise about riding in the rain? I do not ride my bike when rain is in the forecast and know very little except to slow it down a couple of notches.

Things to take on a one week Tour

Let me try and justify or defend my list. Dont want you to think I am a nut a case. Maybe its already too late or too obvious, haha. I was thinking what will I need in the following scenarios. 1. Run out of gas. You need at least an empty gas tank and a siphon tube. You cannot siphon out gas...

    Accessory Socket in XB9s

2003... one of the first ones. I guess I will have to take out the fuse box and put in a harness. Thanks for the info. Putting it on the right side like the ignition sounds like a good idea. I will look into that.

    Accessory Socket in XB9s

I see the fuse but could not find the socket. Anyone knows where this is and where it's located? FYI, I want to plug in a GPS and do not want to wire it directly to the battery. I am afraid I will forget to turn it off and drain the battery. Looking for a connection where it powers with the key.
